I bought this ironing board knowing that I do not iron many things. It is small, compact, and would be great for a small apartment as it stores easily. Doing large items would be harder, but it is fine for a shirt or touching up slacks. It has a padded top, and a cover is not necessary for use. It seems sturdy on a table top, but is lightweight. If you iron most of your things, or large tablecloths and such, consider a larger and more sturdy board. It is exactly what I expected, the price was great and I am pleased with it.

The best thing is that it folds flat and can be kept in any room for touch ups. The iron bay at the end stores underneath for space conservation when not in use, but when in use it creates a safe and stable place for that ever-so-hot iron. I consider that option as an excellent safety feature. Extra padding would be good, and I do add padding to all of my boards. It makes ironing a nicer experience and eliminates the possibility of getting a "waffle" pattern pressed into your garment. This tabletop model is well worth the money, which was a real bargain, in my opinion.

This ironing board was exactly what I was looking for in my house. I needed one that I could store underneath the bed conveniently and would not take up a lot of space. The legs are easy to operate and lock into place everytime. Once on top of the bed the height is perfect to start ironing. This is definitely a great product to have if you don't have room for a conventional board.

UPDATE: Apparently, since I purchased this, Amazon is now offering this under their FREE SHIPPING program. However, there is still the issue of the cover.

Bought this because it was promoted when I bought my new iron, and reviews said it'd be perfect for my limited condo space. It is nice and small - though a bit too small for my tastes. For $10.00, I don't regret the purchase (though there was an over $8 shipping charge added on to that - they don't really alert to you - since it didn't come directly from Amazon.)

FYI, it doesn't really have a cover on it - unless you count the cotton covered board it's built with. Although this works just fine, would recommend going to TARGET - where I've since learned I could buy pretty much the same board - without waiting for it to be shipped, for the 10 bucks --- but with my choice of a designer cover.

This ironing board promised to be just what the doctor (in this case the academy) ordered. It was lightweight, compact and easily stored.

It also broke in half on the first effort at ironing a pair of dress white pants. The front end is so weak, probably due to the 1/4 inch press wood construction, that with very little pressure and no effort, the poorly supported ironing surface just simply could not withstand the normal pressure of ironing.

They now carry them at the exchange and I am putting forth my best effort to try to dissuade the cadets at the academy regarding this product.

I purchased this portable board to press my cotton shirts as I pulled them from the dryer. Its design has been perfect because I just set it up on my dryer and use it just like a floor model. Because of its smaller size, it is not suitable for longer or large items such as dresses or sheets, but for shirts and even pants, it works great. It stores in a very small space when collapsed. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a portable ironing board that can be used anywhere.

I used this little board once for about an hour. By the end of that time the unsupported front end was bent almost to the tabletop. The back end where the iron rests was almost as bad. I used its predecessor (of unknown brand but the same design) for 20 years before it literally disintegrated. This Polder is so poorly made and flimsy it's ready for the landfill after its first use. Academy Bob hit the nail on the head.

I really hate to iron. Part of my problem was dragging out a giant ironing board and blocking some pathway around the house. This little board was a nice compromise for me. It is cheap, works well for most small jobs, and stores compactly.

This has been the best item I have ever bought online. It takes up so much less space, folds for easy storage, and the transaction itself went exteremely well.

I have been a loyal Amazon.com customer literally since inception when they only sold books. I shudder to think at the amount of money I've spent over the years. I've bought many amazing things and many stupid things - impulse buys I'm sure we're all familiar with. For most of them I laugh it off and try not to think about the wasted money. And even though this ironing board cost less than a DVD... I am compelled to write a rare review.

This might be the worst money I've ever spent, anywhere.

I read the reviews about the warping tip and figured, meh, I'll just iron lightly. And though it does bend, I can deal with it. I'm pretty low maintenance. Unfortunately, I also shrugged off the two reviews that warned of a chemical stench coming off this sucker that sticks to your clothes. Do so at your own peril.

I emptied half a bottle of Fabreeze onto it and have left it outside on my patio to air out for literally a month. It still reeks. It's like that episode of Seinfeld with BBO - beyond body odor - it's almost an entity destroying the lives of everyone in its path. At least Axe body spray sales will go up as long as I'm too lazy to drive to a retail store and pick up a standard ironing board.

Huge potential with this little guy. But probably murdering me with toxins. Seek alternatives.
