4.0 out of 5 stars Good for an inexpensive ironing board.
Nice, smooth mechanism and pretty stable even on a thin carpet. It paid to spend just a little more than I would have if I had purchased the cheapest possible ironing board.

1.0 out of 5 stars What...NO BOX???
This looks like it would have been adequate for the price. I probably would have given this 3 or 4 stars. HOWEVER, this ironing board was NOT shipped in a box...just a long plastic bag. It arrived with both edges bashed in and the flat mesh face that you iron your clothes on had huge dents in it. WHY aren't these shipped in a box for protection???

Basically - the ironing board is fine, but the experience and the product is ruined by shipping it in a way that doesn't protect it. Yes it arrived very dented so it's basically worthless. Not a good experience.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Shipping Practices, February 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The ironing board seemed as if it may be ok, but was shipped only in a plastic bag which was torn to shreds and the legs of the ironing board bent beyond repair. When opened, it would not even stand up

I have found this ironing board to be very high quality. It is good looking and folds well. Very sturdy frame and it seems that it will last a long time.

I bought this as a no-frills ironing board just to get the job done. It is sturdy and I have no major complaints thus far (after about a month). J&R World (the seller) did ship it in packaging without a box, but this did not appear to impact it (unlike other reviewers). The board cover looks quite cheap and thin, with a small tear in it, but this was not an issue for me because I already had a thick cover I slipped on. I did quite a bit of research online looking for a low-end ironing board, and this appeared to be the best value I could find.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Ironing Board for Price, February 10, 2010

I searched multiple stores, Walmart, Target, Kohls, etc... for a functional ironing board that was less that 50.00, I could not find one. I searched amazon, and here it is. It is worth the price, and mine did not come damaged. I have never had a problem with shipping from Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Poor Quality!, June 23, 2011

Polder 'used' to make good quality ironing boards. However, the boards are now cheaply made, and the covers are horrible. Think I'll buy one from Reliable Corporation - as the reviews are all favorable.
