This sturdy stepping stool not only provides access to upper kitchen cupboards, it permits family members to get where they need to go in the garage, workroom, library, and wherever light bulbs need changing. And, when kids want to hang posters in their bedrooms, this stool lifts them safely. It features all-steel construction, with durable, nonskid black plastic mats on its 12-by-8-inch steps. Step up to the top and you're 17 inches off the floor, which puts most people into Shaquille O'Neal's airspace. The steel frame resists rust and chipping. (A white frame version is also available.) For storage, the stool folds to a compact package just 1 inch thick and 23 by 20-1/2 inches high and wide. A strap facilitates carrying. Safety features include nonskid feet and a self-locking device that clicks in automatically when the steps are unfolded. To unlock, just lift the bright red tab. --Fred Brack

It folds flat and fits into a small space, out of the way.

Remodeled our kitchen and went to 30" tall upper cabinets which meant my "height challenged" wife needed a step stool to reach the upper shelves.

I was right there when my son pinched his finger and it was difficult to open the stool back up to release his finger.

I received this step stool as a gift, and use it almost every day. Folding up into any small space, it expands to be quite sturdy and sizeable. The step stool features a locking mechanism as well as rubberized feet and steps for safety, and the carrying handle makes maneuvering the stool into small storage spaces quite easy. Highly recommended for reaching and working in areas a foot or so out of reach.

I had been looking for a slim line folding step stool that would fit in a narrow space. Coming across this stool and reading the reviews I thought I'd give it a try. The stool is beautiful looking with its sleek chrome and black design. It's narrower than any others I found when it folds which is good and it is extremely heavy duty -which is both good and bad. You feel very secure standing on it and the height is perfect to reach most kitchen cabinets but this thing weighs a lot! The weight and the fact that the release to fold it back up doesn't work as easily as it should keep me from giving it a higher rating. But if you don't mind the weight this stool is very sturdy, will last a lifetime and takes up very little space when folded.

For some time, I've longed to have a step stool or stepladder that I could use for those pesky tasks that inevitably arise: washing the highest part of the walls, reaching the top cabinets in the kitchen, etc. Every time I looked at ones in the store, though, they were overpriced or so cheaply made that they looked as if they would break if my cat climbed on them! This step stool, however, had the right price and looked suitable. And I was delighted when I received it: small enough to tote around but functional enough to do the job. I only wish that I'd bought it sooner!

I was a little leery to purchase this item after a couple of not-so-nice reviews, but I figured anything has to be safer than what I was using currently.

This item has nice sturdy, wide steps that I am confident to use and it folds and unfolds easily. It has a little red tab that you press and grab the top handle and it folds together quickly and easily. It takes very little space to store in my linen closet.

I highly recommend this item to anyone.

This is a great stool that I can store in the cabinet under my sink as it only takes up several inches when folded. This makes it very accessible. It unfolds and very easily. It is the perfect height for reaching items in the upper shelves of my newly remodeled kitchen. I love it. GJS in Wisconsin

Sometimes a purchase exceeds my expectations, and that was true of this step stool. It's easy to open and shut, convenient to store, attractive, and really durable. It's the kind of product that makes me look for the manufacturer's label when I'm buying something similar.

8 MONTHS LATER. Forget my rave review. The stool LOOKS sturdy, but it's not. The manufacturer claims that it has "self-locking" steps. On a camping trip last weekend, I opened the stool fully outside my RV, sat on it, and began a small repair job. For no apparent reason, it collapsed underneath me. My derriere is still bruised and sore, and I have an appointment with the chiropractor. I am 80 years old and can't afford to play Russian roulette with hip fractures.

Shame on this manufacturer. My handyman looked at the stool and said, "Throw it out. It's a piece of ****."

If you're shopping for a safe stool, THIS IS NOT THE ONE YOU WANT.

This step stool is very sturdy. It folds up flat for storage, and it's easy to carry around in the flattened position, so it's no big deal to carry it off to other rooms when needed.
