This review is from: Pole Position II (Video Game)
Yes, that is right. This game is closer port then any other clone out there. You can actually beat this game. It has 4 race maps. It has the sounds and such. The graphics are nice, but still not like the Arcade. The only downfall to this game is that it was attached to the Atari 7800...you know the free game that comes with it, but the only thing it did was make people despise it. And because of that it is very...very common. But if you really enjoyed the arcade you should like this to.

great old-skool arcade racer, October 1, 2005
Graphics : Arcade quality graphics for a 1984 video game (the Atari 7800 was slated for release in 1984) with lots of colors, nicely-detailed cars, nice backgrounds, and nice-looking roads.
Sound : It surprises me that this game uses the console's onboard sound (which is the Atari 2600 sound chip) because the sound effects and music in this game are nice
Control : Easy! Press left to steer left, press right to steer right, press up to shift to high gear, press down to shift to low gear. The left fire button is used to accelerate, and the right fire button is your brake. Since gameplay doesn't last very long, you won't have to worry about your hand cramping up from the controller's awkward design.
Overall : One of the main reasons to get a 7800 (other than the other good 7800 games and the 7800's "2600 compatibility out of the box").
