From School Library Journal
Gr 4-6-These career guides open with "Fast Facts" that include salary ranges, skills, job outlook, and similar types of jobs. Other items listed, such as the O*NET number and GOE number (Guide for Occupational Exploration), will not be useful to most students who are just exploring career interests. Chapters are clearly organized and take readers through a typical day. A checklist enumerates the basics in terms of workplace skills and personal qualities required. Flow charts list the steps to become a detective or computer engineer or a human-services worker. Career outlooks and groupings of related professions round out the presentations. Full-color photos and charts appear throughout. Useful if additional titles are needed.-Melanie S. Wible, Kanoheda Elementary, Lawrenceville, GA
