This review is from: Police Firearms Instruction: Problems and Practices (Hardcover)
Mr. Grassi's book is easy to read and contains good information. The book is well written and gives Mr. Grassi's opinion on topics of note. He describes the book as a "seminar" on topics of importance to firearms instructors, providing information for instructors to consider. It does this satisfactorily.

Instructors who have not had the privilege of attending live seminars or training beyond their instructor school will find valuable information, such as Mr. Grassi's take on pass/fail vs. scored qualifications, the difference between qualification and training, sample qualification courses, etc. Mr. Grassi also provides links and contact information for many of his resources, if the reader wishes to learn more in that area.

Unfortunately, I don't believe this book delivers $60 of value. Firearms instructors with 3-4 years of experience and a couple of classes beyond basic instructor school may find little new information here. At $60 I can purchase 3-4 other books to broaden my knowledge base, rather than one book that touches briefly on an expanse of topics. If it were $15-$20, I'd keep it as a reference, but I'm returning this to Amazon. If a softcover edition is published at a lower price point, I will re-order.

One bit of interesting erratum: the publisher, CRC Press, lists the title of the book as "Forensics & Criminal Justice: A Comprehensive Teaching Manual for Instructors" on the back cover. They'll undoubtedly fix that in the next printing.
