The author is well known in the law enforcement community. Even though this book was published in 1987; nevertheless, the information is timeless. This book covers a lot of material in its 20 sections. For example, section one explains the importance of fitness for officers. Psychological factors of confrontation is delt with in section two. Section three deals with the force continuum. The use of body language is emphasized in section four. Other topics in this very informative book include: How to use your voice for control, understanding the application of control, restraints and come alongs, active counter-measures, neck restraints, Yawara stick techniques, short stick, impact weapons, handcuffing, fighting the knife, and training issues for women.
In conclusion, this is a book every police officer can learn valuable street survival tips. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Monadnock Defensive Tactics System).
