Sure the title of this review may over state the gaming experience of this game but not by much. SWAT was one of the first games I ever received for PC and every now and then I reinstall it and it is just as much fun as it was back in the day.

The game style is the same style as you would expect from games created back in the early 90's a kind of picture scroll with command buttons that lead to more picture scenes. But SWAT expanded on this concept and used live video of actors to add to the gaming scenes. The missions are fun and intense ranging from snipers hiding out in their homes to old ladies gone nuts. The tactics used in the game are straight from police Chief Gates of the LAPD who pretty much created the SWAT style of policing. My favorite part is the when you die, the game actually has a fallen officer funeral scene playing a bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace.

Truly a fun and addicting game ahead of its time. If this game is to old for you I suggest SWAT3 its an updated version of this game.
