I got this book to help me learn and become accustomed to reading Spanish and it turned out to be a good buy.

The characters are: a moth, a spider, an owl, a toad, and the moon. The basic storyline is that a moth who has been living in a trunk full of clothes all his life is suddenly thrust into the outside world when a loud crash ejects him from his home. Having previously only known the fabricy layer of the inside of the trunk, he thinks that the sky and stars are also made of fabric and goes on a quest to eat them.

It is a funny story that made me laugh at a few parts. My girlfriend is a native Spanish speaker and she also enjoyed the story and thought it was cute. It is something I will read again and again as an enjoyable way to learn.

The version I have (which is a different edition from the version amazon advertises here) was published by Alfaguara in Mexico in 2006, though I imagine the layout of the book is pretty much the same. The illustrations are also great and plentiful.
