Editorial Reviews

Review

Doyle has done a nice job of writing here, and I enjoyed learning more about a person (Compton White, Jr.) I had only brushed up against in the past. I think Doyle has brought life to this character. Doyle is obviously a talented writer. (Keith Petersen )

Randall Doyle contributes to the field of Idaho political history. Too little research and writing has been done on this field, and this work helps fill a small void. This book could be a very good reference for classroom use. Idaho history and political science instructors will be doing their students considerable good by widening their horizons and the history of Idaho politics. (Martin L. Peterson )

This…readable book gives a glimpse into Idaho politics from the 1930s to the 1960s. (Kenton Bird Pacific Northwest Quarterly )

Randall Doyle illumines an obscure corner of the American political scene. The book displays impressive research and writing. It explores, in detail, the lives of a father and son who represented a rural constituency in Idaho. (Zinn, Howard From The Foreword )
