This review is from: Political Economy of International Reform and Reconstruction, The (Selected Writings of Ludwig Von Mises) (Paperback)
The contents of this book concern the past. Mises wanted to see a reemergence of international capitalist order after the Second World War. He analyzed a number of issues concerning different nations in trying to argue that the postwar world should embrace free international commerce. Of course, our present day situation is different now. We need to think about current issues.
Historians can, of course, use this book to gain insight into the events of the mid twentieth century. Non-historians can benefit from this book as well. The reasoning in these essays applies to current problems. The ideas in this book are just as sound now as they were then. It is also interesting to note that Mises wrote these essays while writing several other book, including his 900 page treatise 'Human Action'. Where did he find time for all of this writing?
