The best review on the corruption & deceit in medicine,
By Douglas Harold Crofford (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
Let me start by saying I knew Dr. William Fredrick Koch very well, went to Brazil in 1962 to spend time with him, and brought back to Canada some of his formula which was used to cure a number of people of cancer. I also knew many of those valiant doctors who used his treatment to cure their patients of various diseases, cancers, polio, heart conditions and many more. Every doctor who used his material was ridiculed by the medical establishment as a quack and a charlatin, some had their licenses to practice lifted, while at the same time they had cured hundreds of people of incurable conditions. I met Dr. Andrew C. Ivy, knew of his research on Kebiozen and in later years met the lady who had recorded and kept the data on that work. Met the son who had taken his mother to see Dr. Ivy after she had been given up to die with advanced cancer, she was cured and lived for many more years. Dr. David H. Arnott of London, Ontario Canada, who worked very closely with Dr. Koch, became a close friend of mine, after he supplied Dr. William Setka, of Prince Albert, Saskatchewn, with Glyoxylide (Dr. Kock's formula) which cured me of inoperatable cancer. I have purchased some of the devices invented by Dr. Robert Beck, described by Haley in his book, and they work as described. I am familiar with the work of the department of agriculture, Province of British Columbia, Canada, in researching the use of Dr. Kocks formula, for use in teating animals and it worked, it cured them of all diseases. Many Vets were excited about this, one I came to know was a Dr. Fred Barten, who over a number of years had succesfully treated donzens of animals. I hope that those who read Daniel Haley's book "Politics om Healing" will realize what an immence amount of careful research went into producing this works. I was sent the book by a lady who knows of my abiding interest in health care, on the basis that I promised to read the chapter on DMSO. When I opened the book and looked at the titles of the chapters and saw the one that refered to Dr. Kock, I read it first, as I was fully aware of the Kock story in detail. Because of the accracy of the data in it and the Ivy story and the Beck story and on DMSO, all of which I knew about, one can accept that the rest of the book would have been written with the same degree of integrity, and should be accepted as true. Haley should be recognized as having produced a documnet of inestimatable value in bringing to lite the massive coruption of the medical establishment, the pharmaceutical industry and the government agencies that are supposed to protect use from harmdul medical products. May every reader become active in pressuring the politicians in Canada and the United States to clean up this mess through new legislation. Douglas Crofford of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am a former C.E.O. of one of Canada's Provincial Health/ Medical Insurance Programs, Served as the Vic-Chairman of the only Judicial Commission Enquiry into the paterns of doctors practices in their offices and in hospitals and nursing homes and last but not least I was the C.E.O. of one of Canada's Cancer Treatment and Research programs.

Politics In Healing,
By A Customer
This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
Daniel Haley's book, "Politics In Healing", reveals a deeply disturbing portrait of agencies and organizations created to protect the health of the American People actually contributing to their unnecessary death. By embracing toxic chemotherapies and radiation therapies that are known to be carcinogenic, despite little proven success over the last fifty years in curing and preventing cancer, while actively supressing research and objective clinical trials on extremely promising non-toxic therapies, The National Cancer Institute (NCI) and United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) indirectly kill more people each week than the almost 3,000 people who died on September 11 2001 in the World Trade Center and Pentagon terrorist attacks. On the surface this book documents twelve different non-toxic therapies that showed anecdotal or clinical benefit in slowing or reversing cancer. The discoverers and early advocates of each were persecuted and the therapy suppressed. The book really documents a cancer in our medical and government bureacracies that needs to be exposed to the killing radiation of public scrutiny and legally prosecuted for any duplicity and fraud it has perpitrated on a trusting and unsuspecting American People. It is fairly well known that approximatley 10,000 people die each week in the United States from cancer. It is less well known that over 3,000 Americans die each week from FDA approved prescription medication prescribed appropriately and taken according to instructions. That is over four times as many people as died on September 11, 2001 each and every week. The evidence presented in this book leads to the inescapable conclusion that the NCI, FDA and AMA are either totally incompetent or they have actively and maliciously sought to continue poisoning cancer patients rather than permit the discovery and free investigation of non-toxic therapies that have, in many cases, shown remarkable abilities to slow and reverse cancer. I predict that history will look back on Medicine in the United States in the second half of the 20th Century and marvel at the wanton greed and barbaric practices that have prescribed fear without hope and death by poison and mutilation, while manipulating the political and legal sytems to maintain their unholy monopoly. As we look back in horror at the holocaust in Germany during World War II, future historians will wonder why good people did not step forward to stop the senseless slaughter. Despite spending more money per person on healthcare in the United States than any other country in the world, the people in at least nineteen other countries live longer. This book documents how the NCI, FDA, and AMA may contribute to this apparent contradiction. Many of these countries have embraced non-toxic cancer therapies suppressed in the US. The "Politics in Healing" will open your eyes. The "Politics in Healing" is a clarion call to action. We must take responsibility for our own health. Knowledge is Power!! LETS ROLL!!!

THE MOST ENLIGHTENING BOOK YOU WILL EVER READ!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
Pay no attention to Amazon's capsule review above. EVERY CANCER CURE DESCRIBED IN HALEY'S BOOK, AS WELL AS ITS CAREFULLY CRAFTED SUPRESSION, IS DOCUMENTED IN METICULOUS AND CONCLUSIVE DETAIL! This is not the rantings of some whacko as your own doctor or government official might try to "sympathetically" inform you. The evidence is there--from personal letters between top medical university researchers, to testimony before Congress: you are systematically being deprived of the means by which to save your own life! Haley should be awared the nation's highest tribute as a true American patriot and a national hero. Read this book and decide for yourself. You will never think about our health care system the same way again.

Documented government-sponsored murder,

This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
You must read this book if you or your loved ones want to overcome cancer. If I had had the information in this book 10 years ago, I believe I could have saved my former wife's life. She was a victim of the cancer treatment "system."
What makes this book so special is the DETAILED DOCUMENTATION that Daniel Haley has done. There is no way to dispute that government agencies including the FDA, NCI and FTC have systematically suppressed cancer cures that worked. They are continuing this suppression to this day. The only explanation can be that the political power of the pharmaceutical industry drives our medical system. The 12 exquisitely documented cases Mr. Haley describes are not unique. What makes them special is that public records exist which show both the efficacy of the cancer treatment and the active suppression that makes it difficult for cancer patients (and victims of other degenerative diseases) to find and use these options. Knowledge is indeed power. With the information in this book, you can avoid becoming a victim of our corrupt medical "establishment." You can seek out the alternative treatments that work. With the help of the Internet, you can literally become "smarter than your oncologist" about cancer treatment in a few short hours.

A Physician's Perspective,
By
This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
No words can justify this amazing book. Daniel Haley has done an absolutely phenomenol job of painting a true and accurate picture regading the past and present of traditional medicine and the suppression of innovation and advances in medicine. I challenge anyone to pick up this book and try and put it down after reading 15 pages. Some say that the two largest industries in the US are crime and medicine. Others say that these two industries are the one and the same. After reading Haley's book, and from my own experience as a physician heavily involved in research as well as treating patients with cancer and heart disease who have failed conventional therapies, I can say that Daniel Haley, if anything, understated the truth. A must read for all who seek the truth in medicine and especially for all doctors, regardless of their medical field of interest or their current status/position in their respective careers.

Shattering, but Probably True,
By
This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
Politics in Healing is a shattering exposé of suppressed cures, many for cancer, and attempts to steal cures from the inventors by members of mainstream medicine. The tendency of the the Food & Drug Administration of the USA (FDA) to approve drugs from major existing manufacturers after insufficient testing, and to resist new drugs or treatments of any kind from small-scale inventors is presented in the most upsetting revelations I have seen about the FDA to date, and in highly readable style. The Forward by former U. S. Congressman Berkley Bedell and the Introduction by Julian Whitaker, M. D., are good recommendations. The latter still has a reputation and a practice to protect. There is a war between the supporters of non-toxic treatments, (which are sometimes just dietary changes, or use of supplements) and prescription drugs. The latter kill 140,000-180,000 Americans per year, far more than all the traffic, airline, suicide and murder deaths per year. Because of the staggering cost of testing, even quite inadequately, of new drugs, there cannot be comparable testing or advertising of supplements or herbs, many of which are non-toxic, so results from smaller trials along with clinical experience should be considered seriously in evaluating alternative treatments. Most of the chapters describe treatments for cancer that have been reported to succeed. Most have decades of actual use. Haley explains that the FDA's identification of Krebiozen (for cancer) as creatine was a fraud (p167). I can vouch personally for the lack of toxicity and effectiveness for burns of DMSO, the subject of one chapter. The FDA's effort to discourage use of DMSO by falsely attributing a toxicity to it is revealed. My other reading has persuaded me that the antineoplastons of Stanislaw Burzynski, M. D., are an effective treatment for brain tumors (Kauffman, 2002). Burzynski has been a long-term punching bag of the FDA, being subjected to indictments, raids, etc. When the National Cancer Institute was to have tested antineoplastons from Burzynski, it ignored his instructions so that their tests would fail, then falsely reported that there were never any successful tests, and was generally destructive, according to Haley. The ability of the American Medical Association to coerce State Licensing Boards to lift licenses of supposed quacks has been "justified" by claiming that the public is being protected, according to Haley. The book Definitive Guide to Cancer (Diamond et al., 1997) supports all the alternative cancer treatments in Haley's book. In addition, the book Racketeering in Medicine, supports Drs. Ivy (krebiozen), Hoxsey, Burzynski (antineoplastons), Rife, Naessens (714X) and others (Carter, 1992). Naturally, www.Quackwatch.com advises against every single treatment. Author Daniel Haley advocates abolishing the National Cancer Institute under a 10-year sunset edict, a good idea, in my opinion; and removing the ability of the FDA to interfere with use of non-toxic treatments, supplements or herbs. The fact that 65-73% of FDA employees did work or go to work for the drug companies the FDA is supposed to be regulating has to destroy any confidence in the FDA's impartiality. Most people do not know that the FDA does not test drugs itself, but reviews the test results submitted by the drug companies. Much can be hidden by clever experimenters, and this, too, does little for our confidence. Haley recommends that the FDA be barred from regulating harmless substances, from trying to direct medical practice, and discouraged from perpetrating surprise armed raids. He presents two carefully crafted bills, the Access to Medical Treatment Act and the Health Freedom of Choice Act. Haley cites a key quote attributed to the late Senator Paul Douglas of Illinois, made on the floor of the U. S. Senate on 6 Dec 63: "It's a terrible thing that we cannot really trust either the FDA or the NCI!" (p7, 162, 341, 404, 418). A recent book by Jay S. Cohen, M. D., has two chapters on the conflicts and incompetence within the FDA (Cohen, 2001). The Independent Institute has launched a new website on the foibles of the FDA and suggestions for its reform: <www.FDAReview.com> Its thesis is: "We argue that the FDA control over drugs and devices has large and often overlooked costs that almost certainly exceed the benefits. We believe that FDA regulation of the medical industry has suppressed and delayed new drugs and devices, and has increased costs, with a net result of more morbidity and mortality." (Tabarrok et al., 2001) Among minor flaws, yhere were too many misspellings. Unfortunately, there were also a number of chemistry errors or ambiguities that cast doubt on the accuracy of some of the descriptions of cures. On being informed of many of these errors or ambiguities in chemistry, Daniel Haley, not being a chemist, and trying to make sense of information from some scientists who should have known better, was concerned, and is working to eliminate these errors in future printings or editions. Such an effort would go a long way to making Politics in Healing more credible overall. Whether any medical treatment works has no relationship to the existence of any theory or explanation. Both the tendency to support the efficacy of any medical treatment by a clever theory as well as the tendency to disparage any treatment for lack of a theory should be suppressed. The strength of this book is its depth of study of the political and economic forces applied against certain pioneers in medicine, their heroic attempts to survive, and the very specific reforms recommended for the FDA and NCI. This is a very good book. It tell's about how the FDA AMA and BIG MONEY, have been keeping us "protected". The treatments that have been supressed. Many of the treatments in this book are less harmful than asprin, but they will not research or approve them, because they can not be patented or the patent has ran out. I would recommend this book to anybody who has not gotten results with estabilished medical treatment. I my self am on 3, for a brain tumor. And im getting results, verifiable by MRI.

This book is shocking in its revelations of the motives of the medical establishment which keep patients from successful alternative treatments of disease, especially cancer. The book has ten stories of medical pioneers and their persecution by the medical establishment which read like horror stories, but unfortunately are true, not fiction. This is a must read for persons interested in health and/or politics. The book outlines several successful treatments for persons with cancer and offers hope.

MR. HALEY HAS DONE US A GREAT SERVICE WITH THIS BOOK. THE EDITORIAL HERE IS A GREAT DISSERVICE!!!,

This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
What "strains credibility" is the fact that Mr. Beatty could have read this book and come up with an editorial like this!!!!
I am fully, mentally capable of reading Mr. Haley's book and seeing documented proof of the travesties which have been committed against wonderful people who are doing phenomenal jobs of trying to help and save people. In turn, these people are villified and crucified by government agencies and professional associations who do not want people to recover from diseases--they want to hear the cha-ching in their collective coffer (to the tune of HOW MUCH MONEY????). I truly resent the fact that an American of average intelligence can read this book and easily figure out what's going on, but the person writing the editorial can "read" this book (if he did!) and make the ridiculous comments he did! The customer reviews here tell the REAL story! Ignore the editorial bunk! It makes you really sick to find out what these people, who are trying to earn an honest living, have had to put up with. My heart goes out to all of them for what they have had to go through. I have followed through with research on several of these people so far, and can say that it is worth your while to further research these people, and obtain additional reading on them. Again, a heartfelt thank you to these martyrs who go with their conscience and don't fold up in the face of all the adversity they have faced and continue to face, and a big, fat RASPBERRY to Mr. Beatty!!!!!

This review is from: Politics in Healing: The Suppression and Manipulation of American Medicine (Paperback)
The author, Dan Haley, an ex-congressman from N.Y. has written an historical account of immense importance. Here are detailed the true stories of ten physicians and their non-toxic cancer and other medical cures that were smashed by a pharmaceutical -AMA - federal machine which continues today. For anyone interested in the truth behind who controls the FDA and other federal agencies this is a must read. All health care professionals need to have a look at the reality existing today in the manipulation of the health care system as shown in these stories. POWERFUL!
