Excellent Study of Party Change,

Professor Wolbrecht's account of the transformation of American political parties with respect to gender is an outstanding piece of scholarship. She masterfully integrates historical narrative with the presentation of rich original data analysis to make her case. This book will quickly become a classic in the study of political parties, sitting right next to Carmines and Stimson's study of the party politics of race.
