5.0 out of 5 stars Small and powerful
This is a small sub, but still packs a punch. coupled with my jl audio xd700/5 amp, i got this thing sounding really good. Just the touch needed on a simple audio system. I am a rocker so lots of bass is not needed, but it adds the perfect amount to the songs i listen to.

Love it!

2.0 out of 5 stars A little dissapointed.
I know an audio review like this is very subjective. In my opinion I would not recommend the mm1040. I had both Infinity Kappa and reference series in my last truck, and both had a better sound than these. The specs on the mm1040 are good, but they just fall short of reproducing the music accurately. I tried both versions of sealed boxes that Polk recommends. They say...

They say 0.66 cu ft and also give dimensions for a box that ends up being something like 0.74. I emailed them about that and got no response. 0.66 sounded best. I listen to rock music and like a tight accurate sound. My complaint is often you don't feel the hit of the bass drum. You can feel the resonation, but not enough thump. If someone is playing double bass, you just here a continuous resonation. Some albums sounded very good, and then another album would sound horrible. Now I have gone back with 2 reference series and it sounds just like it should, at much less of a cost. You may have better luck with a ported closure or a different vehicle, but in a double cab Tundra I would not purchase these.

Have these in a special box designed for my Dodge Quad cab and their not ported (sealed). Had to get a seat lift kit cuz of the box but other then that they are nice...I was raised in the 80's so "TIGHT BASS" was superb for the mp3's I listen to..even for the new stuff...rated them a 4 just because their are better ones out there but you'll pay for it..these are nice for the price I wanted to spend
