I am an audiophile, I was looking for a desent sounding pair of outdoor speakers for my pool area. I was mostly concerned with build quality because I live in Florida and the elements can be very harsh here, especially for any type of speaker.
Well, Polk delivered what I needed, the specs are great, and you can really tell when you hold this speaker that it should hold up to the elements no problem at all. The bracket system is very well done, very user friendly and very adaptable to locations of all kinds. The only thing they don't provide is the screws for mounting, but simple enough. To my surprise, they sounded like a very good mid fi home two channel speaker set, honestly I was not expecting to sound as good as they do right out of the box. Break in time is long, but any thing of any quality (speaker wise) always is. Bass response is tight, but not over exaggerated. Bass is good, but more of a mid range shiner, vocals sound very realistic, highs are nice and clean even through MP3. However, a lot of people are Bass hungry, if you are one of them, this is not your speaker, you may want to go up to the higher end Atrium in the line that has the ported bass, that I would imagine would be enough for any outdoor event for most people.Placement also has a lot to do with sound, my speakers are overhead about 10ft off the ground, mounted horizonal, angled slightly down. (maybe 3 deg) I have them spaced about 8ft apart, this allows for good stereo sound at a short and long distance, that works with my area. My deck area is 30ft deep by 50ft long and was worried about this product "filling the air" but it does so nicely with a desent amp powering it. This is very well worth the money, and a great product, hard to find it dissapointing by any means for this price.

I bought these speakers for use out on our deck. They were easy to install and are well constructed. Sound quality is very good except I wish there was a little more low end. Even found an app for my Android phone which allows me to control all the features and zones of my home theater controller which is in my basement. Bang for the buck, these speakers are hands down the best I've heard for the price.

Installed these over my back porch 40' by 40'. They cover the area easily with rich deep sound. For the cost, I don't think there is a better value out there.

I just took a pair of Polk Atriums off of the back of my house to move them. They still sound great and have been in one of the most extreme climates in the US.
Polk always sound better than more expensive Bose.

These speakers are awesome. Replaced a pair of 10 year old Infinity speakers and these new ones seriously rock. My next door neighbor may not appreciate them as much as I do, but the sound quality at all volumes is great. Very easy to install. Came with simple brackets. Would highly recommend to everyone. Check your prices on Amazon because the place I ordered them from sold them for $100 less than the next closest price. Fully a third off from the next priced pair.
