It's not perfect, but it's darn good. I bought 2 for my living room, which is 12x18, and it rocks pretty hard. I built a "false" wall to house these, a left and right in-wall speaker and a center channel, as well as to hide the wires to my TV which is wall mounted. My only regret is not doing enough to make the framing sturdier because these puppies shake the wall. They're great. I'm sure it's the nature of the enclosure (I'm not a sound engineer or anything), but the response isn't even... and they're not as crisp as I'd like, but they are great and I'm glad I bought them. I use the Polk SWA500 to power them and it does great. In fact, I have to turn it to about 2/3 when I watch movies because it's just too much.

This is the sub for my living room where I have 5.1 in the walls. I watch movies and TV and also listen to a lot of music in the room.

This sub is mounted in the wall of the A/V closet, with the grill facing out into the room. It just looks like a small HVAC register, and that's the only part you see unless you're actually in the closet.

It's powered by a 300W BASH amp and works beautifully. The sub can animate the upright bass in a Mingus CD or rattle the windows with some Metallica or provide breathtaking effects for an action movie. Like I mentioned in the amp review, it gets 'way too loud' before I hear any distortion or clipping. I love this sub. For way less than $1000 I have more great-sounding bass than I can use, PLUS I never have to look at it.
