4.0 out of 5 stars Great Budget Setup, December 6, 2006
This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Titanium) (Electronics)
I got these after purchasing a Denon 2807 mostly for it's HDMI ability and feeling that it was being underutilized on my stereo speakers.

I picked them up at Fry's for $199 and I must say that I think they sound great. I haven't got a lot of room to fill (perhaps 15ft x 25ft) and I didn't want anything too loud as I live in an apartment complex, but the sound definitely fills the room and the frequency ranges sound very well represented.

I haven't got much else to compare them too, but I think that even though they may not be the latest model, that a name brand for this price shouldn't be overlooked.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid entry-level speakers from a great brand, February 18, 2007
This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Titanium) (Electronics)
Even these low-end Polk speakers blow away the competitors. I can't believe the volume these tiny speakers push through without any hint of distortion. Only complaint is the subwoofer is a little weak.

Overall, my rating depends on how much you paid for these speakers. 3-star if you paid the MSRP of $500, 4-star if you bought them at Amazon for $289, and 5-star if you bought them (like I did) at Fry's Outpost for only $199!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome for a budget minded system, January 26, 2007
This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Titanium) (Electronics)
The Polk RM6750 speaker system gives you everything you need to put together a superior home theater system on a budget. We put a entertainment area in our basement with a 47" 1080p LCD on the wall, Sony mid-range 7.1 A/V, and Samsung DVD/VCR combo, all coupled to the Polk RM6750 system (I will be adding 2 more Polk satellite speakers soon). For the size area the subwoofer and speakers put out high quality sound. We can really get that rumbled feeling in a action packed movie, or hear the tiny bell ring from a music CD. Total dollars spent on this complete system -- well let's just say my friends are impressed and think, I have over 5 fiqures into it. The Speakers and the HD TV make it Awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bang for you buck!, December 7, 2007
This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Titanium) (Electronics)
I am currently in the process of remodeling my new condo. Before I moved I sold my whole home theater. This time around I planned on wall mounting everything. I was looking for speakers that looked nice, sounded great and came from a brand I could trust.

I couldn't have been more pleased. First, I was impressed by the packaging. The system came double boxed and undamaged.

Second, the size was perfect. I went from big black Infinity towers to this much more asthetically pleasing setup. everything was a breeze to mount and looked great with my new Panisonic plasma.

I paired this system up with a new Onkyo 605 receiver. I auto calibrated everything and then made some adjustments to my liking. I own both a Blu Ray and a HD DVD player and the new audio formats sound great. I always had an issue with vocals on my old system, but now everything is crisp and clear. Which reminds me. Crisp is the perfect word to describe the highs of this system. I knew I wasn't going to get any earth shaking base out of this set up, but was pleased to realize that the low end performed much better than I thought it would. In the end this system works great for a space that is around 18 x 15 sq/ft. Together with my receiver I spend about $700 and ended up with a setup that sounds much more expensive.

You won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel AMAZING SPEAKERS, September 23, 2008
This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Titanium) (Electronics)
So, I ordered these speakers as an impulse buy, and am 110% satisfied with them. My roommate is a speaker/music junkie and his speakers are about 400$ a piece. He sent me a link to these as I was looking around amazon and other places, and told me that if I did not get these I would be missing out.

That was an understatement. These speakers are 100% crystal clear with 0 distortion and can go extremely loud. My room is probably 20x25 and the speakers completely fill it with perfect sound quality.

When I first picked up the speakers out of the box, I was amazed at the quality they felt like. They don't seem cheap at all, because they have so much substance.

I recommend these speakers to any new-comer in to this category, or to anyone at all because they are absolutely amazing.

These tiny speakers are simple awesome for music. Even at a high volume not a hint of distortion ! I haven't played much 5.1 surround sound yet to comment about the set's surround capability, but I believe it should be good.

The 6.1 ch stereo is a great option for analog sources.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tremendous Value!!, August 23, 2008
This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Titanium) (Electronics)
I just wanted to echo the unanimously positive reviews on these speakers. Unless you want to host a rock concert in your living room, these speakers are capable of everything you could ask of them.

I have them hooked up through a Harman Kardon AVR 245 receiver. I've turned them up as loud as I can tolerate and there is still NO distortion in the sound. Not only that, but the sub freakin' kicks. While watching "The Mist" on DVD, I had to turn it down to about 1/3 of full power because anything more than that was flat-out overpowering during the frequent drawn-out bass notes.

Once you factor in Amazon's ridiculously good price ($200 as of this posting), this set has to be the best value in the market today.

I read the glowing reviews on here and purchased this system without having ever given it a listen. I've had the system about 2 months now and I honestly couldn't be happier with my purchase. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound for the price, November 12, 2007

This review is from: Polk Audio RM6750 5.1 Channel Home Theater Speaker System (Set of Six, Titanium) (Electronics)
Purchased these speakers to go into a room that is 20 by 17 feet. The center speaker produces clear voices that stand out from the front left and right speakers. These speakers were paired with an Onkyo 604 receiver and sound great. I used the mic set up feature of the Onkyo and got better sound than me trying to set up the speakers manually. I do think I will order the AVIA II HD video and audio set up disc once it becomes available in the HD DVD format.

I hooked up the subwoofer according to option 1 in the manual. Out from the Sub port on the receiver. No other speakers are attached to the subwoofer. I am happy with the subwoofer for this size room.

I installed this in a conference room/film preview room with an Epson 822 and it makes a great combo! All our faculty are trying to book the room now. The center speaker is a bit heavy for the lightweight speaker brackets, but that speaker should be bigger. Very pleased and will purchase again!
