The quality is further enhanced by the stylish non-resonant aluminum enclosure and the patented PowerPort bass venting technology. The curved enclosure breaks up internal standing wave resonance to create a pure, lifelike sound, while the PowerPort bass vents--which are hidden under the grilles--extend and strengthen the lower midrange performance to ensure a seamless blend with the subwoofer output. The resulting midrange minimizes the "hole" between the satellite and sub frequencies, helping male vocals sound rich and full rather than thin and weak, as with most other sub/slim tower systems.
Listeners can easily team Polk RM7400T tower speakers with other tonally matched Polk RM series models to create a 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 surround sound system. Additional features include magnetic shielding, which lets you locate the speakers near a state-of-the-art TV or video monitor without distorting the picture, and five-way binding post connections for the purest possible sound. The speaker measures 5.8 by 36.5 by 6.62 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a five-year warranty on parts and labor.

This review is from: Polk Audio RM7400T Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Titanium) (Electronics)
For me, these speakers were at the high-end of what I wanted to pay to buy a pair of floor-standing front-channel speakers. I paid $667 for the pair, and they are well-worth it. They give light-tones (particularly female speech) a crispness that makes them sound very clear. They seem to do very well down the range, although my sub is close to them, so I haven't heard them do low tones by themselves. The look very cool either side of a standard TV or stand-mounted plasma, they might look a bit odd next to a wall-mounted plasma / LCD. I've always been a big fan of Polk products, so perhaps it's not an unbiassed review, but these speakers are great for the price.
