Decent OEM Replacements,

I bought these speakers to replace the OEM units in my Honda S2000. The OEM speakers were part of a sad excuse for a car audio system. These speakers made a tremendous difference in overall sound quality and after I hooked them up to a small amp they got even better. These speakers do have to be tuned by the head unit however to bring out their optimum sound quality, and you will never get tremendous thumping bass out of these something I realized after putting them through the paces, but if your looking for a clean sounding well built product that fits in those tight areas, look no further. I wish I had more room in my car, but unfortuantely that's not changing. I imagine these speakers in a car with more room and a resulting larger sound stage would sound even better. Polk gets my vote for a quality product. I'm going to try out their line of subwoofers next I believe.

These speakers fit & sound great in the front and rear deck. With my Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693 they have less bass then the stock speakers but there is enough to balance the sound perfectly. I would rather leave the bass to my subwoofers anyway. I'm running these speaker only off the headunit (no amp) and they are a little louder then the stock speakers but they are MUCH clearer and can go up A LOT louder without distortion then the stock speakers. I would not recommend these if you are looking for more bass unless you are planning on running an amp for them. other then that i would recommended them 100%

I am not an expert, but these speaks have a very good range. I was concerned that my system wouldn't be powerful enough (no per amp just a basic player) but they sound great and I was pleased with the price.

Put 2 sets all around in my Civic, wanted the component for the fronts, but took on advice just to install these (shallow mounts). After tweaking the settings a bit, they offer a great crisp sound, of course limited for bottom end, but coupled with a sub system, they do a great job.

I have a Gen 1 Honda Insight and the doors have very specific openings for speakers. These worked great and drastically improved the sound from the stock car speakers.

Upgrade these speakers for your front & rear Civic '11 - you will be pleased !!,

I just bought (2)x Polk DB651s to replace my front & rear OEM speakers of the Honda CIVIC '11 LX sedan (8th generation) and they worked awesome! The stock speakers of the Civic were really a joke - so thin & light compared to this Polk speaker ! I was dissapointed that Honda tried to skim too much to save money. My other Toyota Corolla '10 & Camry '10 sound way better with awesome bass on stock speakers ! So if you are upset with your Civic's stock speakers then you can reference my review to DIY upgrade those bad speakers with this much nicer one. It is indeed very easy & only takes me around 1.5 - 2hours for front & rear replacement. BTW that was the 1st time I did this kind of thing, so if I have to do it all over again it would be much faster. Of course the real problem is with the Civic's stereo head unit, but I want to keep the original look on my dash so replacing the OEM speakers is the only viable option for me.
First, you would want to grab the Scosche SAHC634 adapter (for 6.5" speakers) and the Metra 72-7800 Speaker Harness. Both of these items will save you lots of time & effort. As for the front speakers, follow this tutorial with pics: [...] Remember that you can skip the door handle cables part because that step is not neccessary. Just pull the panel up and away and you can access the speaker. As for the rear speakers, it is even easier ! Just use a flat-head screw to pry up the grill (cover) on top of the speakers. Both of the grills should come up very easily and you can see the speakers right away. You don't have to remove the entire rear panel. The only modification that you need to do is to use a scissor & cut/trim the extruding ring of inside face the factory grill cover (which sit on top of the speaker when you close the grill). After you do that it should snap back in place perfectly. Remember to disconnect the original speaker plug and you the speaker Harness to connect it back to the new Speaker terminals. Without that speaker harness you would have to cut the factory cable and connect manually.. not a fun thing to do ! After replacing all the new speakers, I crank up the Bass to +5 & reduce the Treble to +2. Now I can feel the thumping base. I heard a lots of people said that it takes a while for these Polk speakers to "break-in" and then the base will sound much better.. So I'm waiting to see that.

I bought these speakers for my car and they are great!!! The sound quality is really clear and the bass is pretty good for the speakers, much better than many others that I've heard. I have both the slims in the front and the rear and it's very clear on the highs and they sound good for all types of music especially rock and hip-hop/rap. All in all, it was a great purchase and worth the money. Must buy!!!

My wife got these speakers for me as a birthday gift. I did a lot of research for what would be the best speakers for under $100.00 that would boost my sound system and fit in the doors of my 97 Nissan XE Regular Cab Pick Up Truck. The original mfg. stereo died and so I upgraded to a Sony CDXGT420IP CD receiver with built in iPod cable and controller. I wanted speakers that would give me as much bass as possible. Plus hit the highs and mid range as well. These shallow/slim mount speakers from Polk did not disappoint me considering what area of placement I had to work with. I was really surprised at the sound quality they put out. I still wish I had more Bass, but since I do not want to get into doing custom work to try and make something fit these will do just fine. I definitely recommend these. I also did a lot of web shopping for the best price and Amazon.com could not beat either.

These speakers are drop-in replacements for the stock E9AF-18808-AA front (door) speakers in my 1992 Ford F150. They are the same size with the same mounting holes (no drilling needed). All that's needed are new connectors on the wires to the speakers. The original speakers were blown, so it is hard to say whether these sound a little or a lot better...they do sound great to me.
