My daughter got the whole set -- this part, plus the two little pools and their dolls which are each sold separately. I was afraid they wouldn't work well together, but they work great! It is all set up nicely so the side pools re-fill this main pool and the whole thing just keeps circulating. Pretty neat! We put the whole thing in a plastic serving tray to avoid possible splashes or any overflow.

This is one of those toys that I-as-MOM have determined that I MUST maintain control of to maintain my sanity. Not that I'm a control freak, or a neat freak, but I do have my limits... and aquatic messes don't rate highly with me. And this toy will produce messes. Thus, in our home, it must be played with in the bathtub or outside on the deck where the little darlin's can splash to their hearts content.

As others have noted, the slide does have a problem staying where it belongs. I solved this -- harshly, cruelly -- by taking the darn thing off the floor where it inevitably ends up and putting it in time-out. This does not apparently affect the quality of play at all. Both my daughter (6) and my son (4) play with the thing almost every day. [Who knew Thomas the Tank Engine liked baths?!?]

As for the pump and the lights, we have had no problem and I'd say we have had this toy for about 4 or 5 months.

Four Stars. It works and is cute and we have had no problems with it even though my son occasionally runs the pump with no water in the system. It is small and this limits play. And most importantly it is an invitation to large puddle.

My 6 year old daughter bought this toy with her own money and she has had it for two weeks. She loves it and wants to play with it as soon as she comes home from school. I plan to buy the other compatible sets for her birthday coming up. I find that the slide stays together well, but even if it does come apart, she can put it back together herself and does so without complaint. No, there is not much room to swim, but the waterfall is really cool, especially with the multi-colored lights. Once the water button is pushed, the water comes out for about 10 minutes, then shuts off automatically. This Polly's hair is really pretty with the glittery strands and for being wet numerous times, it still looks good as new and it seems to be holding up well. We have some Polly dolls with rats nests for hair. All in all, I think it was a great value for the money.
