My daughter pulled the book off the shelf at a book store recently, and I cringed. Every other book lately seems to be "pink" based. A majority of them, I don't like. We sat down to read it and I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline is clear and easy to understand for a 3-6 year old. Best of all, it's a really cute story about a girl who loves her pink pajamas, but needs to find something to wear to a party. Very well written, in a writing style perfect for this age group. I don't usually review books since we have too many.....but don't be turned off by the pink theme. It's actually a good book.

This is an adorable book, that my preschooler and I both love. The story is not too long, and has very colorful pictures. A cute story that reminds young children that everyone likes different things and that its okay just to be you even if you love to always wear your pajamas!

We got this book at the library and loved it so much we bought it. Now we can read about Pollys pink pajamas anytime we want. My 2 year old daughter and 4 year old son really enjoy this book! Glad I bought it.

My daughter (3.5) checked this out of library. It's okay, but not on the same playing field as so many of our favorites. It's about a little girl named Polly who gets invited to a party, but apparently all she has to wear are pink pajamas. (It's not clear to me why she wouldn't have ANY other clothing.) So, she decides she needs a dress, a sweater, some socks, and shoes, etc. And she goes to each of her friends' houses to collect a different item (none of which match). Why doesn't she have other clothes? Where are her parents when she goes around with no clothes other than pajamas and goes to several friends' houses to borrow clothing? Why does she go to a different friend for every item of clothing, to borrow ill fitting clothing? Why doesn't any of it match? We never get an answer. Then, she realizes none of the clothes fit very well (though it isn't clear why she hadn't noticed this when she tried on the items). And then finds out it's a pajama party. The book doesn't make sense to me, and in my view, there's not much of a story.

I gave it 3 stars, because my daughter seemed to like it well enough.

But in the vein of girly/pink kids books, we much prefer others in this genre, including the Every Cowgirl Needs a Horse series, the Tallulah's tutu series, Miss Lina's Ballerinas, Angelina Ballerina, and others.
