5.0 out of 5 stars Good Actors, Good Pilot.
The Show's Pilot originally aired back in 1996 showing promise. For anyone that had a remote interest in Horror/Scifi shows this show had them from the beginning. The cast itself worked well with each other and gave some great performances considering most of the action seens required them to visualize most of the things they were fighting. 3.0 out of 5 stars A Movie for Demon Lovers
The cast was good. The plot was good. The character interaction was good. They didn't go overboard in the gore and special effects like most of these type of movies do. Poltergeist: The Legacy is about a team of paranormal experts who are desperate to find the last of the five druidic boxes before it gets into the wrong hands. If that were to happen, then God's...

The Show's Pilot originally aired back in 1996 showing promise. For anyone that had a remote interest in Horror/Scifi shows this show had them from the beginning. The cast itself worked well with each other and gave some great performances considering most of the action seens required them to visualize most of the things they were fighting. The only down side to this pilot is the demise of one of the characters which leads to the introduction of another with her young daughter. If this was a stand alone movie it wouldn't be so bad...watch the season as it unfolds and the ones that come after it and you'll know she should have been the one to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best shows in a long time !, November 17, 1999

This review is from: Poltergeist:the Legacy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Poltergiest the Legacy is one of the best shows to come out in a long time. It covers such a wide variety of subjects, from the spiritual to the supernatural. You get drawn to the characters and how they interact with one another. This 2 hour movie/series premier did a wonderful job of pulling you into a great story line that would last for the series four year run. The characters develop into people that you actually care about. If you are the least bit interested in sci fi type movies this is the one you have been looking for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poltergeist is the best show ever!, May 13, 2000

Poltergeist the legacy has nothing to do with those dumb poltergeistmovies. It's a terific show all on it's own. There are about 100+websites created by the fans alone. There are close to a million fanfics posted online. The cast has great chemistry and the special effects are TERRIFIC! There's curently a petition at Helen's site to bring the show back. :) "Since the begining of time, mankind has existed between the world of light and the world of darkness"

If that were to happen, then God's fallen angels would be set loose upon the world. There is some gore, some violence and language. So, it is not a movie for children to watch. But, I think fans of the demonic genre will enjoy this fast-paced movie.

I guess I don't have to write too much more praise about Poltergeist The Legacy, because I totally agree with the other five star reviews here. My complaint is with MGM!! They continually refuse to release this pilot, and the episodes that followed, on DVD!! MGM also ignores the previous series by the same Executive Producers, The Outer Limits. MGM: Wake Up!! We want these series, season by season, on DVD boxed sets!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool, December 6, 1998
This review is from: Poltergeist:the Legacy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This movie is very good for those who loke the supernatural or mysterious. It's also a little bit horror, but not too gory. The TV series that follows it really cool. I think it airs on Showtime or the Sci-Fi Network. You can also see it in syndication.

I love this show! I adore its ideals and its wonderful way of showing how the evils of the world are combated. Oh, how I miss Philip. I wish that Patrick Fitzgerald had never left! But I love the show anyway. I just wish that I didn't have to stay up until 12:30 on a Sunday night to see it!

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. After renting it I actually ordered it through my locate Blockbuster, it cost me $75.00 at the time but it was totally worth it. The T.V. series that followed was the best four years of television. I taped the entire series and to this day its the only thing I watch with any regularity. I would recommend anything with Derek de Lint in it as he is a fantasic actor with a very wide range.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enter and be engulfed into the secret world of The Legacy!, October 8, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Poltergeist:the Legacy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"Faith Has Need of the Whole Truth"
- quote from "Poltergeist: The Legacy"

The Legacy. A secret-society that has existed since the sixth century (500s A.D.) Presumably, it came into being in London, England, where the Ruling House now resides. The Legacy is and has always been dedicated to protecting and defending mankind from the ever-increasing presence of evil in the world. Over time, the membership expanded globally and "Houses" were set up in other cities and countries. Each "House" has a "Precept" - a leader - that can be identified by his/her insignia ring. The San Francisco Legacy House, located in a castle-like mansion on Angel Island, works under the guise of the Luna Foundation - a philanthropic institution which collects artifacts, antiquities, knowledge, and devotes large amounts of money to charitable causes and special cases.

Dr. Derek Rayne (played by veteran Dutch actor, Derek de Lint) is Precept of the San Francisco House. He is a multi-faceted man and scientist, with PhDs in Biological Anthropology and Theology. His highly developed psychic gifts - The Sight - combined with his knowledge and experience enable him to engage and conquer almost anything the darkside throws in his path. Committed to defending mankind from all things evil, Derek heads up his special team comprised of ex-Navy SEAL, Nick Boyle; researcher, Alex Moreau; psychiatrist, Dr. Rachel Corrigan; and a young Catholic priest, Father Philip Callaghan. They are what he considers his "family" and even though they know him better than most, the true thoughts and feelings of their loving but stoic precept remain a mystery to them all.

In this first, double-length pilot episode of "Poltergeist: The Legacy" we are introduced to their secret world and the intriguing characters that keep us P:TL viewers watching show after show, season after season. - Clarianna Demonbreun END

5.0 out of 5 stars The show is the coolest in supernatural action., July 12, 1999

This review is from: Poltergeist:the Legacy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This show is so cool.My favorite characters are Nick and Catherine(Kat).I think they should have more of Kat.She is wanted by the Darkside so she should be more on the show. They better not tone it down with drama cause then the show will be stupid.A show with no mush will be the coolest.
