I bought these to make an obstacle course for my son on his bicycle. They do that well, and would also mark a field (soccer, frisbee, etc) quite well. They're smaller/shorter/lighter than what I'd expect to direct traffic in a parking lot.

I bought these cones for coaching kid's sports. The 9'' size is good for visibility and they are light enough that kids don't, generally, trip on them. You can easily throw them in a kit bag for transport. They stack up nicely, making it easy to quickly pick them up off the floor or field. Most important, the price was the best that I could find for stackable cones on Amazon.
