I BOUGHT THIS BOOK FOR THE COVER AND WASN'T EXPECTING IT TO BE AS GOOD AS SOME OF THE OTHER BOOKS ON P.C.O.S BUT IT WAS BETTER. EASY TO READ, VERY WELL BROKEN DOWN BEST RESULT TABLES TO LEARN FROM BY FARE AND INFORMATIVE IN ALL AREAS OF P.C.O.S.
IS A GOOD BOOK FOR BOTH UNDERSTANDING THE MEDICAL SIDE OF P.C.O.S AND EXPLAINING TO FAMILY, FRIENDS AND PARTNERS.

This book is extremely informative in explaining the science of pcos, the causes and explanations, etc.
It explains it thoroughly and clearly (including diagrams and charts) and you wont get confused in the science of it. Each chapter ends with a summary as well as a q & a section. VERY thorough and informative

basic, nothing special,
This review is from: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Woman's Guide to Identifying & Managing PCOS (Paperback)
Pretty average book on PCOS, no new information, really. Good enough to be an intro to PCOS book, but if you've already gone through 2-3 books on the subject, skip it.

GREAT book if you have PCOS. If you have PCOS, you definitely must educate yourself, because there are so many docs out there who still aren't up on what it is, why it does what it does, the many facets and symptoms of it, or how to go about treating the symptoms. It takes more than just being put on the pill oftentimes to combat PCOS. This book does a wonderful job of explaining why the symptoms happen. And how varying drugs and lifestyle changes can improve the symptoms. Since many of the things prescribed to help PCOS symptoms are prescribed off-label, it's an invaluable source.

Great place to start,
This review is from: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Woman's Guide to Identifying & Managing PCOS (Paperback)
I've had PCOS for about 4 years now. Most of my information has come from my own dr. visits and obsessively searching the internet. I've even become more interested in knowing about my case since trying to get pregnant for the last year. This book is a great resource to start with. It really breaks down the information and presents it in a way that is very easy to understand. The book is well organized and even presents patient examples. I read it in a day and was easily able to skip over the sections of the book that didn't pertain to my own personal case of PCOS.
