A little too folk-crafted for my taste,

This review is from: Pomaireware Clay Garlic Holder with Lid (Kitchen)
First, I accept responsibility for failing to realize from the clearly stated dimensions how big this garlic holder is. It's huge! You could store three buds of garlic plus a half-dozen cloves of shallots, so it looks pretty ridiculous in my tiny kitchen. But the size alone wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the crude pig's snout and tail added to the holder (you can see the snout if you look very, very closely at the photo). The product description tells us that each holder is unique, but given that punched-out bits from the holes for letting air through the holder were still attached in clumps to the inside of my holder until I pried them off, my guess is these holders are rushed through production and then passed off as "original" (and thus desirable) when "clumsy" is a more accurate description. As long as I turn the snout toward the wall, though, the holder certainly is functional--and I don't want to spend more on shipping to get another holder--so I'll keep using this until I get to a garage sale and find something a tad more modest in size and artistic ambition.
