This review is from: Pomona Britannica (Jumbo) (Hardcover)
If you are seeking a truly beautiful book, a gift, this is the book to choose. It is a book of art, a Florilegium--book of flowers--but in this case, a book on Pomona (fruit).
It is a coffee table book yes, but a reprint of an important early tome of flower/fruit illustration. Such is book is also interesting for it reflects the era predating photography as science developed plant nomenclature. It is also beautifully done: Taschen has done it again--as Angelica Taschen is a botanist! |
