I'm a huge reggae fan but never really got into modern dancehall (although I love early rub-a-dub, like Lone Ranger or Brigadier Jerry). I found Kartel's earlier stuff hard to get into, but this album is pretty coowl. First song to get me hooked was go-go club, what a rhythm. But there are at least half a dozen other classic trax on here (Romping Shop, Like a Movie and others) There's actually some tunes you can hum along to, which I found impossible with other dancehall artists. Wish the rhythms were a little more reggae and less hip hop but if you're into hop hop more than reggae then you can't complain.

A good display of lyrical content. The lyric is poetry in a different form, raw and explicit for mature adut only.

If your looking for reggae that isn't commercialized with the same old beat over and over again then this is the one for you. Raw reggae that isn't filled with profanity and talking about smoking weed on every song. Vybz speaks on political issues, strife, women and love, the youth, and having ambition. And of course blowing smoke in the air....wouldn't be reggae without it.
