This fantastic performance of La Gioconda, and is a must for any fan of Gencer or the fantastic Mario Zanasi ! Highly recommended !!

This is one of the "great" Leyla Gencers absolutely best performances ever ! Very fine conducting and singing from the young Ruggero Raimondi as Alvise. As Barnaba we hear the fantastic baritone Mario Zanasi, who at the time was primo-baritone in Italy.
