"...and then my lips went balistic...", January 10, 2005
This review is from: Ponderous (Audio CD)
2Nu is unlike any other band or group you have ever heard. The entire basis for this album is what happens to the human brain when one eats too much pizza before going to bed. Every song sounds like somebody's dream: good, bad or otherwise. It's fascinating, funny, intruiging, ecclectic, weird, wonderful, delightful and downright strange. SPAZ ATTACK and THIS IS PONDEROUS are, of course, the standouts. However, listen to FRANK'S CHAIR and HER NAME carefully and you will realize that it's the same story told from two points of view. DDS BLUES is dead-bang on for capturing that incredible feeling of need for escape from the dentist. And TWO OUT OF THREE is an incridibly bittersweet story of love, longing, and love lost. The imagery is astounding in its description and angst. You can REALLY feel for this guy, and feel the stone in the pit of his stomache as things resolve. Just incredible!

Utterley Unique, July 3, 2006
This review is from: Ponderous (Audio CD)
What truly is Ponderous about 2NU is that they only ever gave us this one album. Perhaps after creating it (and I do mean creating) they new that the heights they reached here, could never be again be attained and so, just gave up. This is a truly unique and exceptional album. In more than 20 years working in the record game I have never heard its like before or since and sadly I think never shall. It's very hard to actually explain just what the album is. It is, part poetry, part spoken word, part singing, part musical, part humourous, part tragedy and all brilliantly put together and definately gives you something to ponder. Highlights for me are the spoken tracks - Ponderous, Frank's Chair, 2 Outta 3 and Her Name. In between is a quirky, witty bunch of songs including a version of "Spill The Wine" that is, I don't hesitate to say, the best I've ever heard (sorry EB). The only other thing I can say is get out there, hunt it down and capture it NOW, before it disapears forever!!

Strange and outstanding., June 21, 2005
This review is from: Ponderous (Audio CD)
I remember the first time I heard this album, it was 1992, I was 10 years old, and my counselor at summer camp had the tape. When the summer ended I went right out and bought a copy. Recently I downloaded the track "Ponderous" and had a short discussion with the file owner. If I'm correct this group is from the Seattle area and was moderately popular on the local scene. Background aside, this is some out-there, funky and wonderful stuff. I highly recommend you pick up a copy while you can still find one.
