About the Author

Michael Burgan has written more than 90 fiction and nonfiction books for children. A history graduate from the University of Connecticut, Burgan worked at Weekly Reader for six years before beginning his freelance career. The book is brief, but a nice read for younger kids I would think as stated above the book is appropriate for ages from 7 to 12. It does not have much for specific information although it does mention the roots of the name. The inner workings of a 4 stroke engine, and other tidbits of general information.

I bought the book for my kids who are 3 and 7 years old.

One thing that I found is that the was hardly any reference to the 3rd generation. Other than a few mentions that the cars existed. The primary focus on the book is the 1st, 2nd and 4th generations.
