5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Collection, August 17, 2008
This review is from: Pontos de macumba (MP3 Download)
This is one of the greatest recordings ever of African spiritual music as it took root in the New World. The arrangements are all traditional, featuring only drums, percussion, and voices. But the performance and recording quality are uniformly high. It's an outstanding example of spirit invoked through rhythm and chant. Note: It's better to buy it on CD than MP3, because the CD comes with a fat booklet of information about the songs.
