5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have
The cabinet claw clamps by pony are probably the most innovative kitchen cabinet installation tool on the market. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not stellar
I read so many great things about these clamps, and the concept looked so good, I guess I expected more out of them than was really fair. They do hold the stiles together, but then so do my wooden Jorgensens. Most of the cabinets I install are in houses with walls that are not plumb or square, and I constantly have to shim to make them look good.

The cabinet claw clamps by pony are probably the most innovative kitchen cabinet installation tool on the market. These clamps make aligning cabinet stiles fairly simple with the perpendicular adjustment. They are very rigid and can often be your only support when hanging wall cabinets. A nice feature is they come with rubber padding to protect the cabinets. If you do kitchen installations like I do, you must have these clamps. They are well worth the fifty dollars.

4.0 out of 5 stars great clamp but could be improved, February 11, 2004

These work well for hanging cabinets and make short work out of alignment. My only critisism is the pin (a rolled piece os steel that holds the two pieces of the clamp together at the screw) repeatedly came out of the hole and allows the clamp to separate. This has happened to both clamps and has been remedied by opening the cylinder with a nail set and redriving it back into the hole. They are always in my tool box and they are used heavily as I am a cabinet maker. If they fix the pin with a threaded hole and pin with a screw thread on the end I would have given it a 5+. I will buy another set in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cabinet Installers take Note!, February 10, 2003
This review is from: Pony 8510BP Cabinet Claw (2-Pack) (Tools & Home Improvement)
Have you ever tried to install kitchen cabinets? How about by yourself? Uh huh. If you have then the brilliance of these clamps will be obvious. I wish I had invented them. You not only pull the cabinets together tight, but you are able to get the faces (stiles) even (flush).

The only other thing you'll need is a drill bit made for the pilot hole.

A must have.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not stellar, May 24, 2006

I read so many great things about these clamps, and the concept looked so good, I guess I expected more out of them than was really fair. They do hold the stiles together, but then so do my wooden Jorgensens. Most of the cabinets I install are in houses with walls that are not plumb or square, and I constantly have to shim to make them look good.

I found that with the center plate that screws in toward the stiles to bring the edges flush, if you don't have the backs of the cabinets shimmed and screwed at least part of the way, they pull the right and left edges of the stiles around toward you.

So I ended up using both my wooden clamps and the Claws and that worked nicely. I would buy them again, but they are not a cure-all for my cabinet hanging headaches. They certainly are the most innovative design anyone has come up with in a long time!

I recently purchased a pair of pony clamps and as a professional trim carpenter I give them 5 stars. I believe that they would be a valuable asset to anyone who installs cabinets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for Kitchen Cabinet Install, March 8, 2005

Did my own kitchen cabinets and these clamps are well worth the money. They hold the cabinet together while making sure they are flush together. Impossible to do with other clamps. Only wish there were similar clamps for cabinets that are offset by 30 degrees.

Worked well until the plastic wing which swings in and out of place for hole drilling and screw placement cracked. Once cracked a few more uses and it sheared sending a little ball bearing and spring into outerspace.

Mine were purchased over a year ago hopefully the manufacturer has changed the design of this fragile part.

If you are installing cabinets this is one tool you do not want to be without. Works well but you may need more than two if your cabinets are large or if fighting with a really uneven floor.

5.0 out of 5 stars These work Great, July 8, 2006
This review is from: Pony 8510BP Cabinet Claw (2-Pack) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased these clamps as I install Kitchens and thought these would work great. I have used them a couple of times and found them to do there job. There is a very small learning curve-i.e. not to tighten them up all the way befor making all adjustments-but other then that they are very good quality, and work like they should.

5.0 out of 5 stars cabinet claw clamp, January 22, 2007
This review is from: Pony 8510BP Cabinet Claw (2-Pack) (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a required tool if you are going to hang a lot of cabinets. I have my own cabinet building shop and I hang almost everything I build myself. I put a small piece of formica between the front of the clamp where it will contact the face of the cabinet, clamp, drill, drive the screw and call it a day. Excellent product.
