5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story for middle-grade and teen readers January 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
For someone who doesn't know much about horses, I learned a lot by reading A PONY FOR THE FAIR. This is a touching coming-of-age novel for young readers, especially those who love horses. The author provided great examples of basic horse care and handling, and even gave a few riding lessons. Ms. Moore's knowledge and experience working with horses is evident from the first page. We learn through following the young protagonist's story that even if our plans don't turn out the way we would like, it's not always our fault. We survive, and are stronger for it. Highly recommended for horse lovers everywhere, young or old.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome readi August 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought this was amazing read that really showed what friendships, family and courage. The storyline was amazing and the characters were awesome. I have read a lot of horse books in my youth and I will say this is one of my favorites. Katie who's life has been turned upside with her parents divorce and trying to show her father that she is something special to besides her brother. As Katie sets out to proved to her father that she is special and finds a pony that needs love and care after being neglected. As she soon finds out that she has support from her mother and best friend Angela that she can do the impossible and help a neglected pony. As new friendships are formed and as Katie finds the self confidence she needs. I highly recommend the book for youth and horse lovers of all kinds. You are never to old to read a amazing book as this one.
