Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

The Pony Scouts are going to the county fair to help Jill's mom get the ponies ready for a driving class competition. There are so many fun things to do at the fair—not to mention a bunch of delicious things to eat! But when Jill, Meg, and Annie meet Ben, a boy whose mother is also entering the driving class competition, the Pony Scouts find themselves competing too! Will the best sport win after all?

The eighth Pony Scouts book in this wonderful I Can Read series will bring the same smiles as always to beginning readers.

About the Author

Catherine Hapka is the author of many books for children of all ages. She is too tall to ride ponies, though her mare, Gerri, still looks like one. Catherine takes riding lessons twice a week and lives on a farm with Gerri, three goats, a small flock of chickens, and too many cats.

Anne Kennedy lives in Lewis Center, Ohio, with her husband, Jack, and her rescued dog, Banjo. When she's not illustrating beautiful books, Anne enjoys spending time with her horse, doing dressage, and trail riding.

My first grader really enjoyed this book! It's a cute story with some humor and nice pictures. Just the right length to flesh out a good story but not too long for a new reader.

Super cute. I love how Meg deals with the bragging little boy in the end. Good discussion starter with my kiddo.
