New Pink Poodle Skirt Bridal Petticoat Crinoline Wedding Gown Slip (108DSPP)

If you think that spending nearly $50 for a costume slip is worth it, this may be OK. for you. When we unpacked and shook out the slip, we thought it wasn't even the same slip, but zooming in, I can see that it is, in fact, the same- one can see the edge of the bustier through the fabric of the slip. I think perhaps it is the fact that the image is cut out and pasted on a white background that makes it look more opaque.
Basically, there is one layer of nylon, with a draw-string- not even an elastic waistband, and at the hip ONE layer of tulle netting, each tier gathered into the one above. It would not support much weight in a skirt over it- anything more than a filmy fabric will crush it down. To hold a classic poodle skirt shape, one would need several of these, which could be built for about two bucks and an hour's work. Only those in a great hurry or no ability to sew at all will find this worth while.
This is costume, not clothing underpinings.

I really had to write a review. I bought this product then read the previous review and was really worried that I had spent money on something useless especially when I had bought this to go with a poodle skirt. When it arrived I opened tha box and tried on the petticoat with the poodle skirt and it worked fantastically!!! I was delighted. Of course I didnt spend $50 bucks on it. I think that may have a bearing on the other review. I also tried it on with a dress... that was made from white satin. The dress was much too heavy for the petticoat but it still gave it a little flair. Hope this helps.

I also wanted to say that the petticoat does seem 'sturdy' enough for wearing under different materials... except maybe burlap, but I haven't tried.
In fact, I bought it hoping it wouldn't stand out too much, as I won't be using it as part of a costume, but for wearing under a (jersey material)'circle' skirt.
Oh well, I'll be the quirkiest lady in the office!
