Weirdest CD ever,
By
This review is from: Pooh's Top 40 (Jewl) (Audio CD)
I don't understand how a CD can have such weird songs together on it. There are a few that are Jesus-y. Then, some with Pooh. Then, one that's creepy cause it's this guy talking about finding a wife and "she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother".HATE THIS CD!!! Too bad my 3 year old enjoys it.

I highly recommend this CD for any child's collection. The collection of songs are fun and enjoyable (resulting in many sing-alongs).

BUY THIS ALBUM BECAUSE YOU DONT WANT TO DUMB YOUR KIDS DOWN WITH DUMB MUSIC - LIKE THE WIGGLES - READ WHYIn short, I love the CD; and, my kids love it as well. The beauty of the album is that it truly is a mix of truly "kid" songs, and solid folk music (i.e., that is not only bearable, but enjoyable to adults). I was disappointed to read both the editorial and customer reviews - both oversimplified and wrong. Some of the songs the editor feels are too obscure (e.g., Coming Through the Rye, Loch Lomond) are actually classic folk tunes that, perhaps, our kids should hear. The critcims of the previous reviewer are even worse. The complaint that "there are [tracks] which are totally inapporpriate (sic) for children" is actually referring to one of the most well known american folk tunes ever written, Big Rock Candy Mountain. Is this person actually suggesting a song made relatively famous by Burl Ives is inappropriate? In that case, I'll corrupt my kids. Also, the reviewer complains that they can't understand Donald Duck....and that Goofy is acting...well, goofy. Who would have figured? I think this reviewer should stick to over-produced fakie synth kiddie albums like Disney Dance 2000...or Barney! The Cd has plenty of classic sing-along/camp kids songs(e.g., Farmer in the Dell, Green Grass Grew All Around, etc.)and a few Disney classics (Rumbly in my Tumbly)as well. I'll admit, I don't loooove every single one of the 40 tracks...but c'mon, this is a great Disney album. Who ever said new and popular is good

I bought this CD because I was expecting it to contain music for young chilren but if I'd had a listen to it would have left it on the rack.I don't know why they call it pooh bear to start with, since only about 2 songs are pooh related. Most of the songs seem to be sung by donald duck or goofy, the donald duck ones are impossible to understand and the goofy ones have stupid comments thrown in all through the songs. And then there are the ones which are totally inapporpriate for children, for example 'Where a bum can stay for many a day and he don't need any money....' now how on earth did that make it onto a pooh CD? Save your child and get a decent CD. |
