I've used pool test strips from the local pool store before, and they're never as accurate as a proper test kit, but are more convenient for quick spot-checks of pool chemistry. So, I feel like my expectations were reasonable.

These strips shipped quickly, for a good price, but are TERRIBLE. The color is very inconsistent between strips, the dye runs off the strip before the color stabilizes, and it takes 2-3 strips to get a fair idea of where the pool chemistry lies. Even the pool-store strips were 10x better than these.

I have tried about 6 different brands and I have always said that these are the best. I have NO idea why any of the other reviews say that these strips are hard to read. They have a very distinct color range and I feel i can EASILY see exactly what my ppm are for every element tested. These are actually not very easy to find, so, my last purchase, I bought three of them in case I can't find them anywhere else or they stop making these. I actually gave one away to a friend and he has since told me that he loves them and will never buy another kind. Don't waste time trying any others. These are the best you'll find.

The company that built my pool provided me with these test strips. They work great and I would recommend them without hesitation.

Yes, these are not very good. While the Alkalinity, pH and Calcium Hardness seemed to work ok, the colors are too difficult to match and a given color can include a large range of readings, and give you no way to figure out what amount of chemical(s) would correctly balance your pool water.

The Free and Total Chlorine squares are way off - told me I had absolutely none of either, whereas my regular pool test kit (as well as the local pool store) showed my chlorine levels to be in the correct range.

Better to go with a standard liquid drops test kit, with demand reagents, so you know how much of whatever chemical to put in.

I cannot recommend these for pool maintenance.

I have been using these test strips for over 2 years. They are easy to use and are very accurate. The 6 way strip gives all the needed info to keep pool in perfect balance.

I usually purchase the HTH brand at Walmart for about the same price, but I got a hold of a bad batch or something. The Chlorine was way off; I was dumping a ton in the pool and it wouldn't register the next day. My pool store was out of test strips (never thought that could happen), so I needed something fast and I got this with free shipping (PRIME). I couldn't be happier. I definitely buy this brand again - very vibrant colors and easy to read. Good size test strip, easy to hold. Very happy with this one.

These strips, at the cost of those testing just three chemicals or testing just for bromine of chlorine, provides a simple way of testing all required spa chemicals. If you are a spa owner, you know what I mean, there is no reason to list the chemicals. They work exactly like all other strips, a fast dip, a quick comparison to the pictures on the color chart, and you're done. There is no magic involved here, I just like them because they cost the same as their competitors but provide the full range of tests (for both chlorine and bromine).

Excellent product that is easy to use. I've found them to be as accurate as the messy and time consuming regular test kits.

I was using this same pool water tester from the pool company who installed my pool. I have been very happy with it, since my pool has stayed clear and clean, so I purchased at a better price here. No problems with this at all. Will continue to purchase these test kits.

Colors bleed and to judge the quality of water by shade of a color is ridiculous. For some reason I thought there would be better logic to this test kit like black if something is wrong and white if it's good. In this test, you go by shades of the same color. There is no way this would ever be possible due to color bleeding. How in the world can it be accurate to compare light orange as bad to light medium orange as good? This is junk.
