Book Description

4 and upP and up
Watch where you step! Sometimes the animals that live in Grand Teton National Park are hard to find--but you can always find their poop!

Come along with Michael, Emily, and their family as they learn about the animals in the park from their scats (poop) and tracks (footprints). This delightfully illustrated children's book follows Michael--who is afraid of bears--and his family as they encounter signs of bison, moose, elk, deer, rabbits, coyotes, beavers, badgers, and more.

The book also includes a handy reference chart with silhouettes, tracks, scats, and comments for all of the animals.

Author Gary D. Robson and illustrator Elijah Brady Clark have also produced "Who Pooped in the Park?" editions for Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park, and more will be coming out in 2005.

Pick up your copy of this unique guide to scats and tracks for kids and find out "who pooped"!

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Sure, there are plenty of other books about scats and tracks. My goal was to make one that was fun for kids. They'll enjoy reading about Michael and Emily's vacation and get all kinds of fascinating trivia from the "Straight Poop" sidebars scattered throughout the book, and they'll learn while they do it! Eli and I did our best to make it fun, and the team of rangers and naturalists that proofread the book kept it accurate. If your children ever wondered what critter left that pile of droppings, then they need a copy of "Who Pooped in the Park?"

More About the Author

Although I'm best known for my "Who Pooped?" books, which have sold over 250,000 copies, I have also written a number of technical nonfiction books, focusing on accessibility technology for deaf and hard-of-hearing people--specifically closed captioning and CART reporting, and I've published over 200 articles in various magazines, newspapers, and Web sites, ranging from "The National Law Journal" to "Blacklisted! 411" (a hacker magazine), and from "Newswaves For Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing People" to "VLSI Design" (a chip design magazine).

I have taught computer science at three colleges, and currently own a bookstore in Montana, a couple of hours outside of Yellowstone Park.

This review is from: Who Pooped in the Park? Grand Teton National Park: Scat and Tracks for Kids (Paperback)
My 3 year old is going to Yellowstone with his grandparents. Everyone got a good chuckle from this book and it held my son's interest. They are bringing it along as a field book. I think when they see animial tracks and or poop it will bring the educational and excitement level to the trip up.
