I first read this book in high school, and I loved it. It has a lot of qualities that would appeal to a 16 year old girl, especially the introduction to a man's viewpoint of women. But as I reread it nearly thirty years later, I found the descriptive, eloquent writing so evocative I related to the book on a whole new level. There is an element of predictability, but it's totally enjoyable.

It was a juicy, sexy, spicy thriller for its period of writing. I enjoyed the book very much and laid awake reading it several nights until dawn, as I couldn't put it down. However, having said that, I had read Ruark's "The Old Man and a Boy," and "The Old Man's Boys Grows Older," and to start off it seemed as if he copied a lot of his earlier material. The young Craig Price had the exact same experiences as the young Robert Ruark, but as he got older it went on its own way and became a book you won't want to put down.

This book was a Christmas gift. Although this book is old, it was in very good shape.

A better at least a more " indicated" title for a late Roark would have been " Pour no more"
