Fun Soundtrack But Beware!,

I LOVE the movie and own it, so I naturally needed to eventually get the soundtrack, especially for the Erykah Badu song 'Southern Girl' which is seriously bumpin'. Unfortunately, I found that my copy after purchasing it was a 'clean' version, as in the profanity edited out(and the phrase in the song 'Poison' that says 'me and the crew used to do her', the 'do her' was edited out). Dayummmm! I like my art unedited, thank you very much. I ended up contacting the seller about it and they gladly refunded me my money since there was nothing in the product information to the fact that it was edited. So ask the seller BEFORE you buy if their copy is edited or not. Then again, there was nothing on the actual cd that indicated it was edited either from what I saw(I suppose that when new this cd had a sticker on the outer cellophane saying it was edited that went into the garbage immediately).
Otherwise, I loved the soundtrack. Anytime I listened to it, it would make me laugh since some of the songs actually reference characters in the movie and caused me to recall certain scenes in the film. Most of these songs are pretty enjoyable and jammin', even the slow ones, albeit fairly stereotypical R & B. Nothing too innovative here but as long as it reminded me of the movie and brought a smile to my face I didn't mind too much. There are a couple of old school songs on this with Zapp's 'I Want To Be Your Man' and Bell Biv Devoe's 'Poison', but some old school can be good. There's even a song by Shaq that's not too bad. But, beware of edited cds!

Pootie-Tang Rocks!,
By
This review is from: Pootie Tang (Audio CD)
This soundtrack delivers almost all of the great tracks featured in the film. It even has the "Dirty Dee" theme song! The only thing that I found disappointing was that the main title song was not included (The opening title track - "He'll sign your pitty and it's O-Tay, He knows what you want..."). I don't know why it was left off, but I really wish they had included it. Anyone who likes the movie should enjoy this disc!

I was anxious to order based on the purchase price and failed to notice the Item was a audio cd, not the movie. Clever advertisement. This is definitely and buyer beware item.

Pootie Tang Original Soundtrack,
This review is from: Pootie Tang (Audio CD)
This cd is not the best disc of music I've ever heard, but since I enjoyed the movie, I had to have the music to it! I'd say I only really like about half of the songs. It is missing some songs and loops from the movie which I wish were included. Overall all I'd say not a required buy but at the low price you can find it for...go for it.

Great music, censored songs.,

This soundtrack has all the great songs you want from Pootie Tang. However, unlike in the film, these are all censored versions of the songs. Sometimes oddly censored too. In "Poison" the line "me and the crew used to do her" the words "do her" have been removed. Otherwise, this is highy recommended.
