4.0 out of 5 stars Behind the scenes of the pop world

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best of the "Babylon" series.
This book does provide plenty of insider details of the music industry, but because it's set in the UK, where the music industry isn't as big as the US, it's not as fun. 4.0 out of 5 stars Behind the scenes of the pop world, February 5, 2009

This is the story of 5 young lads, brought together by a jaded, fading manager, to form yet another boy band based on the successful formula of manufactured pop bands such as Spice Girls and Westlife. Whilst the band is fictional, the author has sourced insider information on the music scene and used these stories and gossip she has gathered anonymously, and uses the fictional characters to relay this information, plus give the reader an insight into the music industry.

This is a fun story, very focussed on the British music scene, and enjoyable for those who like to hear behind-the-scenes information, a bit of gossip and have a little chuckle at the whims and excesses of some of the famous in the music world.
