Fun science for kids!,
This review is from: Pop Bottle Science (Misc. Supplies)
This is a fabulous book! The experiments are easy to do, they are safe and they teach some of the basic principles of science in a way that even parents will be learning something new. I bought this book after seeing the author at a bookstore doing a demonstration and I have not been disappointed. Even if you don't know anything about science you will be able to do these experiments with your children...and you'll have fun!

Pop Bottle Science Well Worth It,
This review is from: Pop Bottle Science (Misc. Supplies)
Pop Bottle Science offers plenty of easy to do experiments that I plan on doing frequently with my second grade students this year. You need the special take apart pop bottle to make some of the experiments easier, but most can be done without it. I'm sure my students will have fun reproducing these class experiments at home.

This is a great science book set. It comes with a pop bottle that has been designed to take apart. You can easily search the internet or buy the book "pop bottle biology" for directions on how to cut your own pop bottles apart. You will want to know how because you will want to do all the activities in this book and then some. If you are doing it with a classroom it would be easy to provide pop bottles for every child or a group of children in order to make it easier for each child to do their own experiments. The ideas in this book are easy to complete and are educational and fun.
Enjoy and well worth the money.

Disappointed,

I ordered this for my 11 year-old nephew for Christmas. One afternoon we decided to do some of the experiments and found that a majority of them needed additional materials such as food coloring and extra bottles. Food coloring is needed for so many projects that it should have been provided. Aside from that, many of the experiments did not work. We had a nice time trying, but we ended up disappointed since we expected a lot of them to work. Sorry, but I would not recommend this product.

A fun way to learn,

My son got this for his birthday. It has a lot of interesting experiments and great information. What a wonderful learning tool.
I was under the impression that this kit is supposed to come with all of the stuff required for the experiements. While reading through the book, it seems like nearly all of the experiments (especially in the beginning of the book) require a separate bottle to be used. This makes sense considering the bottle that comes in the kit comes apart and is not water-tight. But due to this fact, they should have made the majority of the experiments cater to this. For experiments that require a water-tight bottle, they could have created a separate chapter in the book and combined them together. It's somewhat difficult to find an experiment that does not require extra supplies that are not readily at hand.

Great quick & easy science activities,

This product has lots of great ideas. I am helping with a second grade Brownie troop getting ready to go on a camp-out and this has lots of easy, quick activities to keep the girls' attention. It is also nice because most experiments use everyday materials and are hands-on. One negative: the lid on the bottle provided does not seal...You also need a regular 2 liter to do some of the experiments. We have collected lots of two-liters, so we will be able to do the experiments anyway.

Excellent gift for independent discovery and the kids dove straight into the projects. With all of the techno gadgets they received, this type of gift is one they used the longest and most frequently. Great for 1st grade up to begin learning hands-on science.

You need an extra 2 litre bottle but that is ok. They are easy and interesting experiments. The kids get a kick out of them.

bottle brings down pop bottle science,
By Denali "school mom" (Alaska) - See all my reviews

This is a great idea but doesn't really work. The large pop bottle is split for creating terrariums etc. and appears to seal with an interlocking system. It actually doesn't seal and so the majority of experiments which involve water or an air tight container - fail miserably! Water pours out from the seam of the bottle and gas escapes.
The book that is included is well done and the other equipment is fine. We ended up scrapping the bottle and using our own.

I bought this for my niece (age 6), and she loves it! She is developing an interest in science and experimentation, and I think this product is one of the best kits I've come accross. 100% satisfied!
