I am a fan of 60's & 70's music so I ordered this boxed set. Upon receipt, I was impressed at the speed of delivery and condition of the item. However, these feelings were short lived once I began to listen to the music as something didn't sound quite right. This set contains three discs with ten songs on each. Examining the box disclosed the following small statement on the front box cover, lower left side, "New stereo recordings by the original artists." Further examination on the back of the jewel cases, lower left side, revealed the following statement, "All selections are new stereo recordings, except those selections marked (*) are original recordings." First let me say that the jewel case print is so small you almost need the Hubble Telescope to see it once it's in your hand. Each song title is followed by the original artist name, but there are only four marked with the (*) indicating that 26 of the 30 songs are either by other artists or by some or all of the original artist but recorded at a latter time. Once you hear the music it is absolutely clear that most of the recordings in this compilation are different from what we listened to on records and the radio during the era. Unfortunately, I have seen and heard of this problem from many other people. The advertisement itself or the names of the original artists on the item becomes the influential factor in making the purchase, only to be disappointed upon receipt. So, BUYER BEWARE, examine the item as closely as possible, pose questions to the seller if necessary to help avoid any problems prior to your purchase.
