If you like Tiesto, Armin Van Burin, and Ferry Corsten, you'll definitely love this CD!

"Never Take Away My Freedom" is heavy noise and harsh male vocal, but the sample of "Don't You Want Me" by Felix wins you over.

Its rare for me to find a CD that I can listen to the whole thing and like ever song in it.

French DJ David Guetta first caught my attention when I saw the brilliant parkour/breakdance filled video to his catchy guitar/dance hit (#3 in the UK) of 2006 "Love don't let me go (Walking away)".

On "Pop life", he returns with more of the same; high octane dance songs, most of which are sure to be club classics. The CD can be played non stop as a continuous dance party.

Opening is the eurodisco sound of "Baby when the light" which somewhat reminds me of eighties group 8th Wonder (with Patsy Kensit). In a similar vein is "This is not a love song".

Lead off single "Love is gone" appears in two versions; an acoustic version with a fuzzy bassline, similar to "Love don't let me go.." which is the radio edit remix, and a house version. Either way, they are both brilliant, and guaranteed to move you on the dancefloor.

I never heard about David Guetta but right after I heard his song "Love is Gone" I liked it a lot... Then I listened to "Baby When the light" it was just sooo amazing that i have come to the conclusion that this guy is awesome. I highly recommend the CD. Listen to Late Night Alumni as well...! it's really good too. (just search "Late night Alumni")

I'm usually more of a fan of compilation CDs from MOS or Hed Kandi that have strong vocal tracks, but after I heard 'Love Is Gone' I decided to take a chance on the CD - what a great decision - it's a staple in my current playlist.

If you like your house music with upbeat vocals, you'll probably throw 'Baby when the Light' 'Everytime We Touch' & 'Delirious' into your playlist.

Or, if you like your music a little dark and the vocals a bit more dirty/deep, check out 'Do Something Love' and 'You're not Alone.'

After the stunning success of "Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away)" and David's phenomenal album Guetta Blaster, he returns with a disc chock full of hard-hitting dance pop gems. Now, don't get me wrong, this is dance through and through. Each track finds that nerve that makes you wiggle with every beat, but the songs themselves resonate with the feeling that also finds you through pop tracks. There is a melody, a talk of love or loss, a cry to do things right. Each vocalist brings his or her own personality through David's stellar electro-vibed dance beats, whether it be Tara MacDonald ("My My My" vocalist), Juliet ("Avalon"), Chris Willis ("Love Don't Let Me Go") or JD Davis ("The World Is Mine"). Juliet is actually the name that drew me to this album the most. I do appreciate David Guetta and all that he does, but her voice is so strong, so confident, so raw that I tend to love her work thoroughly. And seeing her name attached to David Guetta's album was just too much to pass up, especially with this being her first piece since her debut album, Random Order. Her song, "Do Something Love," harkens to people to strive to do things out of love rather than hate or greed. It is a call for something better and for actions driven by a stronger force. All the while being driven by a forceful electrosynthy club beat. Tara MacDonald's voice melds really well with Guetta's style, as well as with Armand Van Helden. She must "have it." Vocalists Cozi and Thailand join the fray as well.

Although all of the tracks are above-average (more than just "good"), one stands out above the rest. "Everytime We Touch" may sound like ANOTHER crappy cover, but it's not. It is a great electro composition that starts small, promises big, and delivers with gusto.

Guetta doesn't hold back with the hard electro house beats on this latest album. It's definitely a dance stomper, but I actually miss some of the more `new wave' synthpop sounding tracks that were on Blaster, like songs in the Depeche Mode styles of "The World is Mine" and "In Love with Myself." There are a couple of nods to retro 80s stuff: an updated electro feeling cover of Public Image Limited's "This is not a Love Song" with an imitation Lydon vocalist, and the pumpin' male vocal track "Always", which samples the catchy background of the Tears for Fears classic new wave track "Change".

The disc is heavy on those tracks Guetta specializes in--tracks that sound like alternative rock tracks mixed into dance songs, with hard male vocals. Love is Gone comes in two mixes, the original mix, and the more raucous, bass heavy Rister & Garraud mix, both of which are dance slammers, making it hard to choose. "Every time we Touch" is thankfully NOT a cover of the Cascada song. "Tomorrow Can Wait" is nothing special, but "Winner of the Game" is a rockin' electro house stomper with heavy new wave male vocal. "Never Take Away My Freedom" is heavy noise and harsh male vocal, but the sample of "Don't You Want Me" by Felix wins you over. "Joan of Arc" is more of the same, and as a bonus, you get the recently remixed and re-popularized guetta classic "Love don't Let Me Go." While a handful of these gritty male vocal tracks are great, this latest Guetta offering has so many of them that it becomes a bit monotonous.

You feel so relieved when things are interrupted with a female vocal track, of which there are WAY too few.
