Je veux danser,

This review is from: Pop Life (Audio CD)
Track list for the cd is as follows:
1. Baby When The Light (with Steve Angelo ft Cozi) 2. Love Is Gone (Original Mix) 3. Everytime We Touch (with Steve Angelo & Sebastian Ingrosso) 4. Delirious (ft Tara Mc Donald) 5. Tomorrow Can Wait (vs El Tocadisco) 6. Winner Of The Game (ft JD Davis) 7. Do Something Love (ft Juliet) 8. You're Not Alone (ft Tara Mc Donald) 9. Never Take Away My Freedom 10. This Is Not A Love Song (ft JD Davis) 11. Always (ft JD Davis) 12. Joan Of Arc (ft Thailand) 13. Love Is Gone (Fred Rister & Joachim Garraud radio edit rmx) 14. Don't Be Afraid (bonus track) 15. Take Me Away (bonus track) 16. Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away) Radio Edit (vs The Egg) (bonus track) French DJ David Guetta first caught my attention when I saw the brilliant parkour/breakdance filled video to his catchy guitar/dance hit (#3 in the UK) of 2006 "Love don't let me go (Walking away)". On "Pop life", he returns with more of the same; high octane dance songs, most of which are sure to be club classics. The CD can be played non stop as a continuous dance party. Opening is the eurodisco sound of "Baby when the light" which somewhat reminds me of eighties group 8th Wonder (with Patsy Kensit). In a similar vein is "This is not a love song". Lead off single "Love is gone" appears in two versions; an acoustic version with a fuzzy bassline, similar to "Love don't let me go.." which is the radio edit remix, and a house version. Either way, they are both brilliant, and guaranteed to move you on the dancefloor. Other standouts are the techno "Everytime we touch", the trance feel of "Delirious", "Tomorrow can wait", the guitar laced "Winner of the game" (with a rock edge), and the trance assertion of independence, "Never take away my freedom" (which samples from the Felix hit "Don't you want me"). There are 3 bonus tracks; the trance feel of "Don't be afraid", the eurodisco "Take me away", and the hit that started it all for me, "Love don't let me go (Walking away)".

I never heard about David Guetta but right after I heard his song "Love is Gone" I liked it a lot... Then I listened to "Baby When the light" it was just sooo amazing that i have come to the conclusion that this guy is awesome. I highly recommend the CD. Listen to Late Night Alumni as well...! it's really good too. (just search "Late night Alumni")

Upbeat tracklist with excellent vocal tracks,

I'm usually more of a fan of compilation CDs from MOS or Hed Kandi that have strong vocal tracks, but after I heard 'Love Is Gone' I decided to take a chance on the CD - what a great decision - it's a staple in my current playlist.
If you like your house music with upbeat vocals, you'll probably throw 'Baby when the Light' 'Everytime We Touch' & 'Delirious' into your playlist. Or, if you like your music a little dark and the vocals a bit more dirty/deep, check out 'Do Something Love' and 'You're not Alone.'
