Any little bump and there are penguins flying all ovet the place which makes you forget who was where.

We've modified the rules a bit to make it go faster, but it still takes forever to play, and it's the same thing over and over again.
Terresa B. Kearns
Only thing I find frustrating is the penguins easily fall out of place if you pop the popper too hard or move the game slightly.

This game is almost exactly like Trouble. If you already own that game, I would not recommended buying this game for the small twist: If a penguin lands on the end of a bridge, the player slides a lever and penguins on the top of the bridge fall into the "water" below, going back to their starting places.

There are 3 faults (1 major and 2 minor) with the game design:

(1) major - the penguins don't stay in their holes very well. It is very easy to knock the penguins out when you're reaching to pop the die, moving your pieces around, or just accidentally jostling the board a bit. On top of the bridges, the holes are especially too big and the penguins simply lean over. Some of the (unintentional) fun of the game comes from laughing at how many times you've accidentally knocked over someone's penguins.

(2) minor - the bubble with the die inside is not as effective as the one in Trouble. About a dozen times during our last game, the die got stuck between faces or didn't seem to bounce at all. Also note that the number two on the die is shown with 2 in-line pips (I think they're called) and not 2 diagonal ones like most dice.

(3) minor - the starting locations and ending locations are not color coded at all. Younger players may have difficulty remembering their home area or knowing the area they're supposed to finish at.

If you don't have Trouble, you might go with this, but having both, I can tell you that Trouble feels more substantially built.

Another reviewer summed this game up well. It's basically a ripoff of Trouble. Similar popper bubble with a die, similar rules with four pegs (penguins) you move around from home base to finish. The bubble is undersized; the die does not turn well and gets stuck in between faces constantly. A tiny jostle to the board to get the die to make up its mind sends all the penguins falling out of their holes. Fights ensue as to who was where. Even unintentional bumps to the board send the penuins falling over out of their spots. The concept of the "ice bridge" and making your opponents fall through is cute but the game physically was so poorly designed with regards to the penguins constantly falling out of their spaces that this is a game that I cannot see playing very often. We have Trouble and the Star Wars edition Trouble; both are much sturdier.

My son and daughter are ages six and three, and this had been their favorite game to play for over a year. We love to play it as a family too. Very fun, lots of action, cute game pieces (much cuter than the plain Trouble). It is great to have on hand for playdates too. All kids seem to love it. Highly recommended!

This is an adorable game, a fun twist on Trouble, but boy do I wish it was better made!

This is a really fun game for adults and children alike. The idea, the premise, everything about it is just plain cute. The execution on this game however fails, on all accounts, beginning with the assembly. To assemble the game, you start by putting together the penguins. The penguins come in two pieces, the colored portion and the white portion. To assemble the penguins, you put the beak of the colored portion of the penguin through the hole in the white portion of the penguin and push until the two pieces snap together. They don't officially make a snapping sound, but they do stay together. Now repeat this step with the other 15 penguins, laughing. It's an annoyingly tedious process for sure. The directions also talk about assembling the ice bridges, fortunately for us, the one that we ordered from Amazon already had the ice bridges in place so we did not need to assemble them.

Once the game is together, you are ready to play. You press down on the dice bubble in the center to "roll" the die. Easy enough, right? Wrong, because the penguins do not fit snugly in the holes around the game board, every time you press down on the bubble, the penguins go flying in every direction. You have to pay really close attention to where all of your penguins are. Sometimes they just fall over in place, other times they go flying off of the board all together. If the penguins were a little more substantially made, and fit tighter in the holes, this problem could be eliminated. Then there is the dice bubble itself, it is very poorly made.

If you planning a play date or sleep over for your kids, then get Pop N Drop Penguins Game By International Playthings game. Kids will have guaranteed entertainment :)
There are 16 little penguins that move around the board. I love the fact that the dice is secured from being lost.
Game develops counting and motor skills. Great toy!

I was disappointed by this game. The popper is cheaply made, taking a bit of work to make it really pop. The penguins are easy to accidentally knock over, which is frustrating as well

Very nice game, easy to set up and lots of fun. It took me a little while to understand some of the game but once you play it and continue to read the instructions it's becomes easy. My six and 2 year old grandchildren played the game, but the game is realy for children from 4 up. But if you have an adult helping the younger one it's fun. I would say that it's eeasier if you only have one younger child, having more than one would not work, I always play with the children, it's fun when an adult is partof the palyers. I love the Ice mountain, you get a lot of litlle penguins to place on the mounatin and it some places you can slide an area that if a penguine lands on it one of the other players can slide it and the penguine falls, making him start his journey all over again. It can be a long game, but it keeps the kids entertained. I love it !!!
