5.0 out of 5 stars Very well done.
It's amusing that someone mentioned the Pet Shop Boys as having better remixers, I think their recent ones are bloody awful!

This collection has more than a few tracks that make it worth the while. My favorites are the remix of A Little Respect (Koishii and Hush, hidden under the alias 'Avantara'), the pumping anthemic Sound Factory Remix of Fingers and...

There are so many brilliant remixers combining modern electro sounds with classic 80s synthpop--why weren't they hired to give Erasure's classics a fresh sound? Stuart Price, Tommy Sunshine, Jason Nevins, Cut Copy, Dave Aude, Bimbo Jones... Powerhouse tracks like A Little Respect, Stop and Drama have had all the energy sucked out of them here...Tragic.

This collection has more than a few tracks that make it worth the while. My favorites are the remix of A Little Respect (Koishii and Hush, hidden under the alias 'Avantara'), the pumping anthemic Sound Factory Remix of Fingers and Thumbs (Cold Summer's Day), and the playfully inventful re-working of Drama! by Andy Bell and JC.

Good stuff. A new Andy Bell album slated for the next release, and Erasure are getting together to write again this year. Erasure days are here again ... yet they never ever really left, did they?

Have to agree with a few of the other reviewers. I love Erasure, but these remixes pale in comparison to the original tunes. Disappointing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Erasure Reborn, September 7, 2009

Its always fun to read reviews from die hard Erasure fans and ones who are totally stuck in the 80s, total opposite rankings and for a band to even have the consideration to release a remix album of their top hits twenty years later, shows Erasure will be around for a while and that there are other DJs and artists who totally respect them for their music.

Myself, Im an Erasure fan, have been and always will be. The only difference is im not a staunchy dude in his 30s who stays at home with his cat, I still go clubbing and enjoy the energy and sounds of the new club era. This CD is mixed well considering the current dance scene and I know for a fact a few of these remixes have already hit clubs in Puerto Vallarta, San Francisco and L.A.; it wasnt easy finding the remix CD in the stores, so I had to wait for my special order, and I should have gotten it on here... its a few bucks cheaper.

Totally get this CD to freshen up your Erasure collection, you wont be sorry (unless your the one who stays at home with your cat).

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, April 5, 2009
This review is from: Pop! Remixed (Audio CD)
What a disappointment. The only decent remix is track nine. Boring, no energy, unorganized, and generally annoying-sounding remixes. What's with Erasure? Pet Shop Boys seem to choose much better remixers.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you don't recognize these mixes from what you heard at your club, then don't bother., March 28, 2009
This review is from: Pop! Remixed (Audio CD)
Erasure is a particular band whose songs are generally NOT improved by remixing them (there are but a very few exceptions, especially with their earlier material). I fell like a fool and bought "The 2-Ring Circus" many years ago when it came out. A flop! A colossal disappointment. There were and are many remixes of their hits floating around on 12" vinyl or on CD, but only a very few are actually good and/or an improvement over the original versions. Play the samples from this CD, or go to iTunes, and HEAR what I mean. Spend a couple of more bucks and get the import Pop-40 Hits instead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not nearly as good as the Erasure Mixes of the 80s / early 90s, April 20, 2009
This review is from: Pop! Remixed (Audio CD)
I was a huge fan of Erasure when they first came out. I bought everything I could get my hands on, from the records to the singles / mixes. Somewhere during the late 90s I moved on and found new acts to follow. Recently I bought the Erasure Nashville cd and was impressed so I got Pop Remixed.

I was very disappointed as the times have changed and technology is better, but the mixes pale in comparison to the oringal early mixes of most of these songs. The cd is a nice addition to an Erasure collection, but it left me slightly disappointed.

My two favorite remixes were Always and Victem of Love.
