4.0 out of 5 stars different but definitely interesting
Since it appeared in between the 3 "Bayreuth" albums, people might have certain expectations--as I did--about the type of sound that they're going to get with this one, but "Pop" is really a totally different creature. Less industrial, less metal, more of a sort of gothic-electropop hybrid. I wasn't really sure what to make of it at first, but I've found that the more I...

3.0 out of 5 stars bleh
Definitely not Bayreuth Eins (his best in my opinion). Too pop, too cheesy, too bleh. But I gave it three stars to be fair; he is talented, and this is talented music. Just not the type that I usually like. I bought it on the basis of Bayreuth Eins, without having heard Zwei and Drei, if I had listened to those first, I might have realized the direction this was going,...

Since it appeared in between the 3 "Bayreuth" albums, people might have certain expectations--as I did--about the type of sound that they're going to get with this one, but "Pop" is really a totally different creature. Less industrial, less metal, more of a sort of gothic-electropop hybrid. I wasn't really sure what to make of it at first, but I've found that the more I listen to it, the more I like it. As is typical for Witt, the songs are all lyrically interesting (it helps if you know German), and there are quite a few catchy tunes here as well, including some that invoke Witt's old Neue Deutsche Welle days. Personal favorites include "Für den Moment" "Zeit zu gehen" and the bonus mix of "Erst wenn das Herz nicht mehr aus Stein ist."

4.0 out of 5 stars just as the title says, April 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pop (US Edition) (Audio CD)
just as the title indicates, this album is 'poppy'. I only picked it up Beyruth Eins was 'heavier' and darker, and doesn't sound anything like whats on this disc.
Still, It's enjoyable and well produced
