5.0 out of 5 stars Pop what?
I was skeptical when I first read that Popchips were not fried nor baked, but popped. How many times have I ventured into the somewhat scary world of healthy snacks? But I was very surprised when I tried them and immediately found myself becoming one of their biggest spokesperson. I even sent a case to my family in Indiana.

3.0 out of 5 stars Popped or pooped?
These chips can taste good if you like the strong flavors. I prefer the regular potao chip flavor as the others are strong and xometimes too fake in taste.

I haven't tried every variety, but of the ones I have, I crave the BBQ Popchips and the Salt/Vinegar Popchips!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best chip ever, ESPECIALLY BBQ flavor, July 29, 2010

I am officially a pop head. Not only is the the hands down best chip I've ever had the people who work for the POP CHIP brand are super cool. I emailed them to tell them how much I loved the chips and they sent me a hand written thank you note and a free sample of all their flavors. Now that's how American Business should be run. All these companies with AWFUL customer service should take notes from them. Their small gesture just made a customer for LIFE.

I'm not big on chips period, however I do like salt and vinegar chips when they are not greasy and thick. My husband brought home a bag of salt and vinegar Pop Chips and I tried them and loved them! Especially since they are NOT fried and don't have that un-tasty "healthy" baked lack of flavor. I wanted to try the other flavors so I bought the mixed flavors on Amazon. I have to say, my favorite is the salt and vinegar-but I'm vinegar mad. The black pepper and sour cream and onion come in second, then the cheese and plain. My least fav is the bbq as the flavor is just too strong for me. I like that its a kind of "junk food" product I can have in the house and not feel guilty about because it only tastes like its bad for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Alternative to Chips!, September 12, 2011

This review is from: Popchips 6-Flavor Variety Pack, 3-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
I was skeptical from all the bad reviews and the warnings that these would never replace real chips (my one real dieting weakness) and I was worried my boyfriend wouldn't even try them. But, I got a box of 2 of each flavor to check them out.

I was very surprised at the amount of flavoring on each chip, and although it's not the traditional crunch of a ruffle, it's perfect for tricking yourself while still maintaining a better food habit. The serving size is about 22 crisps, which is a lot if you actually count them out, and it's easy to portion out 3 servings per bag. My boyfriend even likes them now and we are impressed that the barbeque flavor (one of our least favorite varieties of regular chips) is still extremely tasty and satisfying.

If you are on the fence about these and don't want to waste $20 in case you don't like them, pick your favorite flavor and buy just one 3 oz bag. I don't regret it since I haven't been depriving myself completely of my favorite cripsy snack, even when I go to parties I'm not overly tempted to stuff a handful of salty, greasy chips into my mouth. Since I've been bringing the bags into work, I've gotten coworkers hooked as well :) Overall, a really good find.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great variety of flavors, July 16, 2010
This review is from: Popchips 6-Flavor Variety Pack, 3-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
I love PopChips. They're delicious and less greasy than regular chips. I bought the variety pack to try out the different flavors. Having tried them all, I recommend "barbecue" and "salt and pepper". Costco offers the huge economy size of barbecue PopChips at a better price. Enjoy.

This variety pack offers a little of everything, from garlic and cheese, BBQ, sea salt and vinegar to original, pepper, sourcream. I like the subtle cheese flavored the best. The pepper and the vinegar are both quite strong and have to be washed down with cold beer.

But other than that, the chips are crispy and fresh and don't leave a greasy trail on your hands. No other lingering chemical aftertaste whatsoever. It's hard to eat just one of these; expect to finish off a bag in one sitting!

The package arrived with contents whole.

These were tasty and I like the concept of being popped. I don't think I would pay the retain price, though. My first purchase as the assortment package so I could try the different flavors - liked them all. Recently was able to get a supply of the barbeque flavor as a "Today's Deals" which was really a bargain! I would recommend clicking on the TODAY'S DEALS link at the top of the page daily - or download the free app to your iPhone! Every once in a while there's a deal out there that is a great bargain for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but NOT low in calories!, February 4, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Popchips 6-Flavor Variety Pack, 3-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
I was looking for a new kind of snack and saw an ad for these chips so I read dozens of reviews- maybe 100 or more.
The most common comment was about how low in calories these were.
So once I received them I was very surprised to find that a 3 ounce bag has 360 calories.
That's 120 calories per ounce versus 140 calories per ounce of corn chips or kettle cooked potato chips.
Not exactly what I would call a low calorie food.
The flavors are very good and strong with the two most commonly sited- barbecue and salt and vinegar- coming out on top.
This is a good quality snack but useful only for variety. If you are looking for low calories definitely continue on your way!

I usually buy these at the local Trader Joe's, but the possibility of having them delivered to my front door was too much to resist! They make me so happy, especially when I combine them with Tuscan Whole Milk, 1 Gallon, 128 fl oz (http://www.amazon.com/Tuscan-Whole-Milk-Gallon-128/dp/B00032G1S0). The only thing that could make it better would be wearing a Three Wolf Moon t-shirt while munching on my chips.

Actually, the best part of this purchase is the ginormous box the chips come in. If I ever foreclose on my mortgage, I can live down by the river in this box. Winning!

These chips are great, I tried the variety pack, and I think the BBQ are the best. They have no saturated fat or trans fat. If you are worried about your cholesterol, try these. A little expensive, but very good. Delivered to my door for less than they cost at the stores.
