Features:
The concept is pretty simple. You play as either Popeye, Olive Oyl, Bluto, or Wimpy. Race through seven different areas, each with its own power-ups and traps. During the race, you can hop into a car, hop on a skateboard or pogo stick, or grab a jet pack. Otherwise, you're on foot for most of the race.
As you run through the area, you'll find power-ups. The most important, spinach, gives you an extra boost of speed. Other power-ups include land mines and lightning blasts to stun one of your opponents. Each area also has its set of traps, especially holes you can fall into, so keep your eyes on the road ahead.
Some elements of this side-scroller really stand out. Not only are the environments detailed and the character animations strong, the frame rate is exceptional.
The game includes five different modes: Quick Rush, Adventure, Challenge, Time Rush, and Team Rush. You will need to win an area in certain modes to unlock them in other modes. In Team Rush, you can hook up with another player via the Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable. In this two-player mode, you can either cooperate or square off against each other.

A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Popeye: Rush for Spinach (Video Game)
I am a big fan of old School Cartoons like Popeye and more. basically with Popeye Rush for Spinach the game is kinda cool, The Graphics look alot like the 1930's cartoon and you control Popeye, His Girlfriend Olive Oyl, His Arch Enemie Bluto, and Popeyes other friend Wimpy. But this game does remind me back in the 1930's when they did this cartoon character. This is a must have if people like old school Games!

A Strange but fun game,
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Popeye: Rush for Spinach (Video Game)
"Popeye : Rush for Spinach" for Gameboy Advance is a fun but very strange game. It is kind of a cheap rip off of Mario Kart. it is a racing game kind of like Mario Kart. But instead of racing in cars, you race on foot, Dinosaurs, car, boat, and several other things depending which stange you are on. You play as one of 4 characters, Popeye, Olive Oyl, Bluto, or Wimpy. the idea is to make it to the finish line first. And just like in Mario Kart, you can get prizes to help stop your enemies from winning. But here is what is better about the Popeye game. In Mario Kart, you have to get a prize box filled with a mushroom to get a power boost. throughout Popeye : Rush for Spinach, Spinach cans appear at randmom places for intsant power boosts. In this Popeye game, if you get a prize box, you can do several things 1. Turn your enemy into a turkey temporarily. 2, Stop them completely but having them struck with lightning. or 3. Drop mini bombs that explode when stepped on. This isn't necessarily a bad game, but Like I said it is a cheap rip off of Mario Kart. For a Popeye GBA game, I thought it would be more Popeye like. the only thing Popeye about it is the characters and the Spinach.
